I was reading an interview with Nolan where he talked about being excited for this film being an ending to their Batman story.
As he said, these things continue in the comics but in movies they tell a finite story. That means they're looking to deliberately wrap up their Batman mythology.

This got me thinking, they probably aren't going to go the typical comic book route that even the older films took, where no matter what happens, Batman is left ready for his next adventure.

Is it possible that this movie won't do the whole vindication and establishing of Batman as Gotham's hero thing?
Could Batman "end"? Could we see his identity be revealed or him retire? Could Batman die?

Dunno. Nolan always seems to go all out with these, and isn't afraid to smash expectations and take risks. I'm wondering what bets are off for this movie and where it's going to go storywise.
