Rate the Game: Week 165

Yeah, I'm doing this hella early. I figure it's the best shot that I have in order to get this up and going here on the forums for the week. As a precaution, I will be doing the same thing on the other forums to make it more convenient.

Anyway, a happy new year is upon us. Welcome to 2024. What wonders await us on this next 12 months? For starters, here's the first Rate the Game of the year! Before we go digging around in the bowl, let's put last week's Eternal Champions in its proper position on the board. Behold....

Mind you, I also counted the votes placed in the other thread over on the other boards to come up with the final score. And what a score it is! I didn't even have to spend a lot of time editing the leaderboard. Sadly, Eternal Champions ends up being the lowest-rated fighting game we've got as it earns a below average rating of 2.6 and that's enough to make it land near the bottom of the barrel. I'd wager only something like Kasumi Ninja or Way of the Warrior would be able to top that. Or bottom that, I suppose.

Well, time marches on and it's time for us to tackle the first game of the new year. What delights are still in store? Let's have a look....

There we go. The bowl should sing "Auld Lang Syne". Anyway, what did we end up with? Well, we have had a stunning lack of movie-related titles to deal with here. Probably because they tend to suck and suck hard. But maybe this one is a hidden gem? This week we deal with the survival horror sci-fi title that's all about the most lovable aliens right next to Gordon Shumway and the Great Gazoo. It's Alien: Isolation! This is probably the most recent game we're tackling here and maybe that'll mean it hasn't gained your notice and time, but who knows? It's worth a shot, considering the high praise it's received. What do you say? Let's do the poll thing and hear what you have to say. Until next week!

Also, don't vote on the other forums if you already vote here.

No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes...

...again.
