People complain just to complain.
Take Duke Nukem Forever as an example. People complained about it including stuff from modern FPS games. Then they complained about it being outdated.
So they don't like that it takes on new things yet they don't like that it plays like an outdated game.
They don't want the old style yet they don't want it modernised.
