Ubisoft states the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag won't be getting any DLC. It also ties into a previous announcement confirming no Season Pass for the Wii U version either.
Quote:
While we talked about yesterday's DLC announcement lacking a Wii U confirmation, the situation only got worse today. Ubisoft has confirmed that the “Freedom Cry” DLC, as well as future DLC, won't land on Wii U. No reason for the decision was given.

According to developer Ripstone, the Wii U allows cross-platform play to be possible if developers choose to do so with no restrictions on other platforms used.
Quote:
"They've (Nintendo) been quiet, but they've not been idle at all. We've been having similar conversations with them. They're changing their policies on the technical side a lot swifter. We're launching Pure Chess and Knytt Underground later this year, and on Pure Chess we asked whether we could do cross-platform multiplayer, expecting it to be the typical closed console platform I've been used to working with for 20 years. Within a couple of days they said, 'yep, no problem. You can have other console players playing against Wii U players. You can have smartphone players play against them. No problem.'

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma reveals it only took Nintendo around 6 months to complete the Wind Waker HD project.
Quote:
“Development was still difficult. You had to consider the difference in hardware at the time. Additionally there is a technique known as toon shading, which gives the game a very animated look. At that time, the technique was established, but had not be used before by our staff, everyone had to do everything by hand.”
