2004 is a hard one too, because although Triple H spent a lot of time at the top, it was as the heel and there were intermittent spots where they tried pushing Benoit and Orton, respectively. While Triple H is the link there, I think given the big oomph Benoit had at the start of the year, and that he was also in the SummerSlam main event (despite having a questionably presented run with the World Title) kind of puts him there on a technicality.
