Probably the biggest rumor involving the Wii U and slowly being picked up by a few other places is that Nintendo and EA are getting involved in a huge feud with each other.

The rumor revolves around the Nintendo Network during the time it was leaked Nintendo was asking Valve and EA for help with EA looking like it would win the bidding request.

Supposedly Nintendo broke the talks after EA wanted exclusive treatment for the network structure and having it tied into Origin which would leave all the power with EA. EA in return has started to kill support for the Wii U with themselves having a mini-feud with their studios who still want to support the Wii U (ex. Bioware, EA's Canada studio for FIFA).

It could also explain the sudden rejection of Crysis 3 for the Wii U since Crytek has the engine running on the system but EA helps fund and publishes the game. Madden itself has been gimped badly for the Wii U.

Valve meanwhile has pledged more support for the Wii U which probably means Nintendo picked them to help work on the Nintendo Network.

This is where the source of the rumor comes from : http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/commen...roundbreaking/

Several other sources which are mostly message boards have been trying to tie in several announcements and leaks (ex. Peter Moore's trip to Japan last year) with EA now suddenly dropping or gimping games for the Wii U. Kotaku so far seems to be the only big website that has hinted something is going on between EA and Nintendo in regards to Madden 13 being gimped.
