So I went to a SmackDown house show in Glasgow on Saturday.

I went with my two friends who were big wrestling fans during the "Attitude Era" but don't watch wrestling anymore. They do know some things about the current product though because of me and wanted to come along for the experience and all that.

Anyway, the show was really good, my seats were better than I thought they would have been and there were some good surprises. One being Christian having a match. I wasn't expecting Christian to appear but he interrupted Drew McIntyre and he brought Mark Henry along with him too, so then a handicap match was about to begin.

The best surprise came when out of nowhere, Booker T's theme hit and the arena actually erupted. My friends were marking out big time for him and I got a bit carried away myself.

There were eight matches and all of them were good.

Jinder Mahal vs Brodus Clay (With Hornswoggle) - Brodus won. Just before he walked to the ring, he stopped his music and introduced his "Little Brother". Hornswoggle then came out.

Six Man Tag Match: Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks and Percy Watson vs The Usos & Mason Ryan - The Usos & Ryan won and Watson got absolutely no ring time at all. All he did was stand on the apron. I don't watch NXT but last time I checked, Watson was a face. Also, my friends love Mason Ryan now and think he's great. They can't understand why I don't like him.

Alberto Del Rio vs The Great Khali - Del Rio won and he got the loudest boos. Just like on TV, Ricardo is awesome and both Del Rio and Ricardo were teasing some kids in the front row.

Natalya vs Alicia Fox - Alicia won and Aksana was the special guest referee. Natalya was playing the heel that night and the crowd were actually quite into the match. Though like some here at TPWW, some people in the crowd saw the match as a piss break but the match was actually pretty good.

Cody Rhodes vs Big Show - The Intercontinental Championship was on the line and Big Show won. This match was very slow paced but it was a decent match. For about ten minutes, Rhodes refused to get in the ring and start the match which got the crowd restless. Also, more proof that Rhodes was doing a great job as the heel that night was when he was on the mic. He talked his usual stuff about WrestleMania being a fluke for Big Show and so on, but then he started to make fun of Scotland and say that nobody famous has ever came from Scotland and that the only thing Scotland is famous for is an American movie staring an Australian actor. One of my friends got pissed off at him. Just like on TV, the way Rhodes can work a crowd is great.

Drew McIntyre & Booker T vs Christian & Mark Henry - McIntyre & Booker won and the crowd were really into the match. Like I said before, I was surprised to see Christian and even more surprised to see Booker T. Before the match, McIntyre spoke and said how it's great to be back home, but then it got a bit weird. McIntyre then proceeded to tell the crowd how he used to get absolutely wasted around Glasgow and that he loves to drink and how much fun he had doing it, which then my friend joked about they whole PG thing the WWE have going on. Also, McIntyre pointed out his parents in the crowd and they both got a good reaction. I didn't know his mum was disabled though. She was sitting in a wheelchair and was pretty close to me. His dad was wearing Drew's shirt and was bald.

Kane vs Randy Orton - This was a No DQ Match which Orton won via an RKO on to a steel chair. The cheers for Orton when his music hit was insane. The kendo stick/Singapore cane also got used but not as much as weapons get used on TV, which is understandable. My friends marked out for Kane's Chokeslam and Kane looks so much better than he did last time I saw him live in 2008. When I saw him four years ago, he actually had a a bit of a belly and looked a bit doughy. Last night, he looked to be in great shape and was pretty much flying around the ring.

Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus - This was for the World Heavyweight Championship which Sheamus retained. The "YES!" chants were in full effect and I instantly joined in on them myself, which received confused looks from my friends and from a kid dressed as Sheamus who was sitting four seats away from me. Just like Cena's matches, the crowd was divided between "Men & Kids".

Overall, it was a really good house show which I really enjoyed and my two friends thought it was great which was somewhat of a relief to me as I thought they would have been really bored and disappointed. I have plans to go back the Glasgow house show when the WWE return in November or aim for one of the Television tapings of Raw & SmackDown. I was surprised to find out that more of my friends would have loved to have came along to the house, but I just didn't ask around. So my aim is to ask them all to the November shows.

Top 5 crowd reactions

1. Randy Orton
2. Booker T
3. Drew McIntyre
5. Sheamus
