I'd argue yes only because at least Big E's name didn't become solely initials and NXT announcers called him just Big E lots of times so the change wasn't as terrible.

Now if he got got called B.E.L., it would be really bad.

Then again after some thinking, Neville losing his first name because Vince thought it was just a girl's name might top TJP for dumb name changes.
