Paying the players won't fix anything because there will always be more temptation out there. People think players are going to get five figure salaries or something and it won't happen. Hell, paying players $5,000 would be damn near impossible for most Division I schools with 70 man rosters. So there will always be some jock sniffer willing to give a kid more money, access to yachts, strippers and other things that a player still couldn't buy if he was paid.
