He had "it" though. I liked Edge from day one. I remember thinking he was great as far back as when he was Sable's mystery partner against Marc Mero and Jackie. From the get go the crowd seemed to care about him, and I remember wanting him to go far right out of the gates.
They definitely didn't know what the fuck they were doing for a long time though. The boom period helped too, but I think he had a natural connection with the fans. Thankfull The Brood kept him and Christian employed until the ladder match got them way over, and from then on in it was down to business.
