It's an issue for me with the Wii U and the 360. Wii U is much worse, though. It's down to me using an old school tv. If I hadn't gotten a Wii U, I could have caught up with everyone else and gotten an HDTV. Wishing I had.
Feeling let down by the Wii U right now, to be honest. It wont detect a wi-fi connection, even though there is one, the overscan is bad enough that, playing Balloon Fight Breeze, I can actually fly right off the screen, my pad speaker broke and Nintendoland is actually pretty crappy in general. Using the stylus for the Yoshi game, it feels weird, as if I'm scratching the screen too hard, when I'm really not putting much force on the screen at all. Holding the pad like an iPad and using it as a steering wheel feels awkward.
I'm also finding it a bit hard to go between the TV and the gamepad. I instinctively want to look at the pad the entire time because that's where the controls are and my brain tells me "Screen and controls in your hand = handheld = look at that screen the entire time."
Massive Nintendo fan and even I feel blah about the console right now. I wasn't expecting to be in tears of joy or anything but I did expect to enjoy myself.
