Microsoft announces small changes are on its way in regards to Gamerscores as Xbox Live Arcade titles will be getting an increase from the standard 200 points possible to now a 400 points possible per arcade title.

No changes are expected to be done to retail games which will keep the 1000 points as a max and to DLC games which will still keep their own points and kept together with their retail counter-part.

Quote:
Starting next month (April 2012) all new Xbox LIVE Arcade games will have the option to increase from 200 to 400 Gamerscore points, with the addition of up to 30 Achievements. Even better, this Gamerscore increase will be required in all new Xbox LIVE Arcade games starting in June 2012.
It is very unlikely the new changes will carry over to older titles but have been confirmed to be the new standard for all XBLA titles after March.

The move is being done to please Gamerscore chasers who have felt either arcade titles provided way too few points or kept demanding for more increases.
