Ideally, yes. The problem comes when your audience is educated, but willfully ignores (or has no) empathy and champions freedom of speech and other tangential junk so they can justify holding onto their archaic "humor" or whatever.
Point being that they are already rejecting reason. For selfish reasons. It's difficult to reason with those who reject reason for selfish reasons.
