I get the Ravens Super Bowl team had nothing to do with Dilfer. The Ravens went 6 games straight that year without scoring a TD and still managed to win 2 of those games. When you have like the 2nd or 3rd best defense of all time, it didnt matter who was the QB. the Ravens defense of the last couple years has been good, but not 2000 good. Im hearing grumblings of how the defense this year is 2000-esque, and while you can see it, their secondary is at best adequate at the moment and if that doesnt improve they'll be burned sometime in the passing game enough to stop the comparisons. People are saying as easy as their schedule is, its possible they could out-do 2000 : Quote:

Ravens' stats from the 4 road playoff wins: 2008 Wild Card vs Dolphins (27-9) Flacco - 9/23 135yds 0 TDs McClain and McGahee - 137 yds 1 TD Defense - 4 INTs, 3 sacks, 1 FF, 1 TD 2008 Divisional vs Titans (13-10) Flacco - 11/22 161yds 1 TD McClain and McGahee - 44yds Defense - 1 INT, 1 sack, 3 FFs 2009 Wildcard vs Patriots (33-14) Flacco - 4/10 34yds 0 TDs 1 INT Rice and McGahee - 221 yds, 3 TDs Defense - 3 INTs, 3 sacks, 1 FF 2010 Wildcard vs Chiefs (30-7) Flacco - 25/34 265yds 2 TDs Rice and McGahee - 101yds, 1 TD Defense - 3 INTs, 3 sacks, 2 FFs Clearly Flacco did good last year, but for his 3rd year you'd better fucking hope so. But the other 3 wins he averaged from below average to shit. Meanwhile the constant in all 3 games is the ridiculous defense and a good run game. I dare you to tell me that without the D putting up stats like that that the Ravens ever even have a chance of make it past the Wildcard 11 INTs, 10 sacks, 7 FFs and 1 TD in 4 games? Jesus |

if they had lost to the Rams, then something would have needed to happen, but that was a worst case scenario, especially considering I thought the Jets would be a tougher matchup then they were..
Problem I have the most as do most Ravens fans is Cam Cameron. Why they would have continued to throw the ball vs the Jets was baffling.. |

I think someone from ESPN during the preseason or at least before the blowout win against the Steelers had hinted the Ravens were considering dumping or trading Flaco after this season if he had another average or bad year.
Can't remember the exact details but it had to do with them feeling either he had plateaued and wouldn't get any better like Alex Smith on the 49ers or the defense side was complaining the offense was basically "wasting" their window of opportunity while the team still had a quality defense. |

And for comparisons sake, lets look at the Raven's stats in the 3 playoff losses:
2008 Conference vs Steelers (14-23) Flacco - 13/30 141yds 0 TD 3 INTs McGahee - 60yds 2 TDs Defense - 4 sacks, 1 FF, 307 total yds allowed 2009 Division vs Colts (3-20) Flacco - 20/35 189yds 0 TDs 2 INTs Rice - 67yds Defense - 1 INT, 2 sacks, 288 total yards allowed 2010 Division vs Pittsburgh (24-31) Flacco - 16/30 125yds 1 TD 1 INT Rice - 32yds 1 TD Defense - 6 sacks, 2 FF, 297 total yards allowed He's such a great QB he still can't win even when the defense is just average |

Just give up Droford. You are wrong and are just going to keep fighting this battle to try to make yourself seem right in your own flawed logic. And you are going to be proven wrong, again and again, just like every day of your life.
Just walk away. |

Last years Pittsburgh game is the toughest of those 3 games cause they had the game in hand at the half and pretty much gave it away in the 2nd half and I'll attribute it to being in Pittsburgh. It went to the point for this year that they needed to do whatever it is they had to do to win the Division so that they'd get home playoff games were they have the best record in football since 2008 (21-5 vs 14-12 on the road).

You heard it hear first. Droford thinks the Ravens are soft on the road.
Overrated? Sure sounds like it. According to Droford at least. |

If Flacco had the WRs that Manning has, he has the arm to throw for as many yards and TDs as Manning does..whether or not Cameron would utilize them right is another story (probably not).. |

amazing indeed, Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason are completely worthless. Peyton would be lucky to throw for 3500 yards with those bums

Ray Rice is a RB, and while its nice to have a recieving threat in the bacfield, they shouldn't be the best reciever on the team, but he pretty much has been for the last two years. |

So, Skippord... I haven't been paying tons of attention. Why is there such a movement to get Tebow starting? Does everyone actually think he's going to tear it up or do they just want him because he portrays a better image and everyone hates Orton?

In Vince Young's defense... How was he suppose to know the Eagles had maybe the worst linebacking core in the history of football.

So if Orton is for all intents and purposes gone after this season and the team is losing and likely won't even sniff a division lead, why the fuck is the young exciting QB siting on the bench? He may not be the best QB but at least he's something new and different. You can only watch Orton crumble under pressure and fold over into sacks so many times before any back up starts to look good, let alone a guy like Tebow |

The only thing I can definitively say about Tim Tebow is that he lit it up when I played with the Broncos in Madden.
That's enough of a reason to start him for me. |

You can't not cheer for The Eagles and then cheer for the Phillies. Especially when one of those reasons is because you hate Eagles fan and you are from the same town as Eagles fans who also are Phillies fans. It's a violation.
It's not life and death you don't have to get mad. You just gotta roll with the punches... That's all. *Quick edit * Screech, if you don't see this edit before your next post my apolgies. I'm pretty sure you are a Phillies fan, but if you aren't... I know you have stated you don't like Eagles fans so my point still stands if you are in fact not a Phillies fan. |

I don't get why Tebow doesn't at least play in like a wildcat like formation. At least make defenses prepare for something else.
It does kind of seem spiteful not to play him. |

I'm not mad, I'm just confused. In my experience Eagles fans are more annoying, simple and short-sighted than Phillies fans.
I spurn those Phillies fans who exhibit the same behavior, but I do that to any fans. Can't stand it. |

Yet fans are seriously supposed to by into "well we had an open competition and Kyle won"? Orton got to look good in practice throwing to guys like Eddie Royal, Brandon Lloyd and Eric (Fucking) Decker. Quinn had Royal/Decker, Matt Willis and Eron Riley. Tim had Matt Willis, Eron Riley, D'Andre Goodwin, Jamel Hamler. Not exactly a group you can shine with and far from fair. Yet Tim still outperformed Quinn in the preseason |

I've never liked the Eagles (not just because of the majority of their fans - that came later), but I've been a Phillies fan my whole life. Probably has a lot to do with it.

Last year was Brandon Lloyd's year to have the title, now it's Decker's time to shine. Him being available in any league is a travesty. Dude just scores touchdowns
