Yeah I know, but I thought i'd try to tempt him with the horrible knowledge that I've got his QB.

So outside of Krispy, nobody else gets draft grades. Apparently Yahoo's new draft grades feature is only for conventional drafts. Gay.

Seems like yahoo is having some sort of chat in 10 minutes. Might want to go there to tear them a new asshole for the stats in the draft thing being difficult to read and the entire new interface in general.

Goddamn Yahoo, I have been shit-talking ESPN's fantasy platform on the forum here for weeks and then Yahoo goes and makes theirs worse. Assholes.
Anyway. Draft is at 1:00 or so right? I might have to duck out early, have a pickup softball game around 4:00. By then should be down to the nitty gritty anyway and hopefully I'll have most of my team picked out. crossrine |

Probably only able to make the first half hour of the draft now. Can't wait to see what ridiculous team autodraft comes up with.

Just blow most of your auction money on 3-4 stud players so the autodraft won't fuck you too much

That's basically what autodraft does for you, anyway. They've set the AI now so it will never bid more than the Average Price for any particular player (in year's past, it would keep going higher and higher than that). But it will vault straight to that price. So basically if somebody autodrafts, it's a guarantee that they'll get AP albeit at the cost of like $72.

Oh yeah? Haven't done any auctions this year yet so I've yet to see that. Usually Yahoo lists the "Projected price" (their price, basically), then the "Average price" (what has actually been happening), and AFAIK they would always autobid you up to the projected price. That's why if you're with autodrafters it's hilarious to nominate kickers early on because the autodrafters would instantly bid up to the projected price of like $6-7 for a kicker. Excellent.
If it goes off the "average price" now, that makes a little more sense. Gives a more accurate representation of player value. That being said, if you do need to leave early, it is wise to spend money fast and early on guys you want on your team, to ensure you have your team mostly sorted how you'd like it. Better to blow $150 on 5 players you know are going to be studs than have the engine spend that money on 7-8 guys who you didn't want. crossrine |

Yeah. I had the first nomination in last Sunday's draft so I nominated Gostkowski hoping to start a bidding war but the AI didn't budge. Didn't care though as it got me my kicker for a buck. Will probably do the same thing in the next draft just to get the kicker spot out of the way.

I want to screw over an autodraft team so badly. Just drafting shitty players who the autodraft will bid on. Totally fill up a guys roster with crap.
We did it with Krispy, but he still wound up with like Arian Foster, Brandon Marshall, etc. only surefire way to pull it off is to have everybody nominate shitty/mediocre players early on. And it's rare to get everybody to cooperate. |

Yeah, but then at that point the draft kind of loses its fun. Just becomes a spitefest for the one or two people who may have had legit reasons for not being there

I get that an all, but I dunno. Seem to remember a baseball auction league a few months back where autopick spent a guys entire budget on like the 4 best players in the league and he wound up winning the league by a mile.
I guess in the NFL it's not as sure of a thing because of injuries and stuff, but it's still annoying knowing that so many good players will be out of reach unless you decide to match autopick's mental retardation. |

I want to know what the autodraft will do if someone picks Aaron Hernandez. I'm assuming that they have some way of 'training' autopick not to pick those and injured players.

Yeah but Kris P. was only not there because he was being a little bitch because he can't handle an auction draft. Probably doesn't have much reaction time from all the weed he smokes.

My real problem is that the autopicker bids like an asshole and always waits until the last second to make the bid higher. Can't get any good value picks with people autopicking. |

Can't wait to start the 1985 season. Have my draft later today. Hoping I have the first pick so I can get Eric Dickerson. That kid was amazing last year.
Marcus Allen would be a good choice, too. Dunno about QB in the first round but Dan Marino is tempting. I wonder how early someone will take the Bears D. |

Goddammit. I found out 3 hours after the draft started that I'm already in the league because the teams are carrying over from last year. I'm doomed to never draft in a TPWW league.

Shit. Either Yahoo doesn't allow IR spots to be used until the season starts, or they're just not allowing me to place Percy Harvin there because he's technically on the PUP list, not the Seahawks active roster.

What's the point of the IR spots? This isn't a keeper league, is it?

IR in fantasy is kinda like DL spots in baseball. Just a way to stash a guy and free up an extra roster spot until the injured guy returns.

It's been essentially useless until they introduced a new short-term IR last season. I think the only use for it was in keeper leagues until last season.

What I want to see is if they are going to add an NA position as they did in baseball this year. This means you could keep those players who are suspended for half the season.

Might be too much of a safety net for people who accidentally draft suspended people.
My team is awesome if I do say so myself. Having a celebratory beer. One more draft to go tomorrow during Raw so I probably won't be able to post much in the live thread. |

Definitely went different than I usually do and blew half my budget on 2 guys in Peterson and McCoy.
My depth is horrible because of it though. |

I did a similar thing, blowing $98 on Charles and Spiller. In the end though, I'm very happy with my defensive lineup and my team overall. Overpaid on some guys but whatever

Had my draft last night. ESPN ranks me an F. Fuckin hate ESPN, just because I took a couple flyers on rookies and kick returners... Also, it's a keeper league, straight draft, not auction.
QB: Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning RB: Jamaal Charles, MJD, Fred Jackson, Jonathan Stewart WR: Andre Johnson, Devin Hester, Dwayne Bowe, Golden Tate, Dexter McCluster, Reuben Randle, Cordarelle Patterson TE: Jason Witten, Heath Miller, Tyler Eifert D/ST: Bengals, Rams K: Blair Walsh, Janikowski |

Not sure how I feel about my team. God damn auction drafts.
QB: Kaepernick, Cutler RB: Murray, MJD, Pierre Thomas, Ben Tate WR: Vincent Jackson, Victor Cruz, Sidney Rice, Vincent Brown TE: Jimmy Graham, Jared Cook K: Matt Bryant Part of me desperately wants to believe this is a championship group, but I feel like I should probably shop Graham for another back |
