Computer won't recognize any wireless networks
My friend's Dell is having problems recognizing wireless networks. Off campus at her apartment her computer will not bring up any wireless networks wheN you click on "View Available Networks". However, she does remain connected to the university network, albeit with an extremely weak signal due to distance.
It isn't a problem with the router or the modem as both mine and my girlfriend's computer are able to connect with no problem. Again, my friend isn't even able to view ANY networks (the one in her apartment or those in apartments around her). Any suggestions? |

Uninstall and reinstall the wireless network card driver for the laptop
What software is being used to connect to the network? You could use windows software to connect to the network or the the software that comes with the network card (most likely intel i believe if its Dell) With regards to the router..... unplug the router and cable model and reconnect. Check out your router settings to see what devices are trying to and if they are able to access the wireless network. |
