So I think the result of the whole "incident" on Raw is apparent...
Since the Raw thread is closed for whatever reason, I guess I've gotta make this about something thread-worthy.
Cena got drafted to Smackdown which made all the Smackdown stars ecstatic. Mark Henry then became part of Smackdown and the first thing he did was single-handedly cost Smackdown the biggest star in the company. Seems like this is leading to a Mark Henry vs. the world storyline where everyone in the Smackdown locker room hates and resents him for him costing the show Cena. And probably a main storyline of Mark Henry vs. Teddy Long. It could be a good way to use Henry. I like it. If that was the reason for Cena's double-draft, then it makes total sense. I say give it a couple weeks to see if that's what they're doing before we say "What the fuck was the point???" |

I think Henry will just be all "I see all these punks changing brands with a smile on their face. I'm sick of smiling, my time is now. I'm the Silverback! Rawr!"

I, for one, like that idea (return of the Silverback gimmick... hurting everyone because it was fun and because he could), and I know I'm in the minority...
but let's just see how long it lasts (if it starts at all) until it's derailed. Happens every time for Mark. 1) pushed as big monster heel - 2) push goes away - 3) he goes away - 4) turns face on return - 5) gets over a bit as a face - 6) inexplicably turns heel and starts back at 1. |

You see, this logic makes sense. Being that this is a weekly episodic television show, you would think the IWC would wait and see how things play out before calling it a "horrible decision" and "terrible writing." No. They piss and moan, bitch and complain minutes after the show aired and say "Wow, what a fuckin stupid move i hate wwe rawr." Sadly, this will never change. |

Mark Henry fucking sucks, no way will they do anything noteworthy with him on smackdown. Any heel push he gets will once again fade away after a month or two and he will return as a face next november or some shit. This guy has been in the WWF/E for 15 years and did anyone hear the pop he got last night from the hot crowd in the main event match?? Lets just say it was dwarfed by Eve's pop when she removed her Raw shirt. Nobody, but nobody could give a fuck about Mark Henry. He hasn't mattered one bit since he was spunking rubber hands out of an 80 year old woman and that was nothing to do with his wrestling ability. I think he used to lift cars for money on Smackdown too and thats about all he's done in the business. The guy fucking sucks

Did I miss anything? ^_^ My only problem with this (topic) is that it has potential to be big, but more often than not, leads nowhere in a few weeks. Kinda like a D-Lo return. Or the Honk-A-Meter. |

Whether it fails or succeeds, whether you enjoy or hate Mark Henry, if that's where they're going with it, then the angle tonight makes sense.
And by the way, for the "Mark Henry sucks and shouldn't be getting a push" people. I think there are very few talents that I have seen that are absolutely unpushable. I can't even really think of any at the moment. When Mark Henry came to Raw as a face and beat Orton and started working the crowd with that "Stand and cheer, now sit down and be silent" arm motion thing, he was on his way to something special. The ball may have been dropped but he had the crowd in the palm of his hands. They were eating it up. He found his nitch. He is... pushable. |

Also, I have some faith in Smackdown getting it right. Raw would surely ruin it but I'll give Smackdown a chance.

Seriously tho, i recall raw going to a break once before and Henry was trying that gesture thingy in the ring and about 4 people were responding to it. Shouting at fans one week doesn't a push make |

He did it a few weeks in a row... and I think it was the 2nd week he did it that he started doing it before the commercial, they came back and he was still doing it and the entire crowd was still playing along.

Yeah come on TPWW, some of you like Mark Henry, and that's fine, but come on get serious. We seem to have the whole Mark Henry debate at least once a year, and nothing ever happens. I don't see this going anywhere.

http://vids.wwe.com/11856/wwecom-exc...ark-henry-reac notes: = the crowd doesnt cheer when he cries, they were cheering when Big Show got drafted = mark flinches when big shows pyro goes off = mark refers himself to be a "seasonal wrestler" instead of "superstar" |

I didn't think that was a bad match. There have been worse casket matches with Kama, Yokozuna, Kamala. The one with Henry wasn't as bad as people say. Compared to the matches he would have starting at 23-27 it just is looked at as really terrible.

Definitely agree that Truth's heel turn is good. I'd like to see where it goes, but this is the first time I truly am cheering R-Truth, though I am a big Morrison fan too so it's a win-win. It would be great if Morrison won the triple threat and feuded with Truth over the WWE title.

And it's not like he's doing it in front of the same crowd every week. It was a crowd interaction thing that I guarantee, if they had kept it up, would still be working today. Crowds love being part of the show.

Like I said, there are very few un-pushable guys. I've been witness to the fact that you can find a nitch for Mark Henry that makes him interesting. While it obviously takes a lot more work than it would to get a guy like The Rock over where you just hand him a mic and say "go", pretty much anyone on the roster is capable of being worthwhile.
