What happens in the future remains to be seen, but I honestly believe Jay's show will bring in ratings like they did before. Heck, even if some Leno fans do think Leno cheated Conan out of his spot....they're not gonna care. They like Jay that much. Plenty of fans in the Leno fanbase hated seeing Jay go. Infact, in real life, it's amazing how different people are then they are on the net. In the real world, I've come across plenty of hardcore Hogan fans but on the net, most people hate the man. And in real life, I've discussed this whole Late Night thing at work, and plenty of my co-workers said they were Leno fans, and found Conan to be annoying. (And I do disagree with that.) With all due respect to the internet, and it's regulars, if the net had any force in any world beyond their computers, guys like Hulk Hogan wouldn't be still working, and WCW would still be in business. There's a reason why the pros are where they are at, and why the "experts" are working average joe jobs, and posting on the web forums. While no one is without error, I think NBC knows what they are doing now. They made a huge mistake asking Jay to leave, and they're trying to correct it. The waiting game is the next move. NBC is gonna try to let all this cool down, then Jay will be back in a few weeks, and rather the ratings are there or not remains to be seen, but even if they are not there right away, I am guessing they will be soon enough......cause Letterman's style of humor differs from Jay's, and not everyone is into Letterman's brand of comedy, and those people are gonna wanna laugh too. |

Yet you spent a page asking me how old I was. Well done.
(Cheap and silly? Yes, but it had to be done.) Quote:
Is it kind of like that? Glad to see you're reading at least some of what people are saying and not being completely selective. |

I don't recall spending an entire page asking you how old you were. I asked a simple question you could not answer.
.......No, not gonna go there. Too easy. Quote:

I gotta say, at least you're funny and entertaining unlike guys like Seth82 and Kane86. The fact that you don't have two numbers attached to your handle was the first sign. And like me, you named yourself after a character from a 90's live action show. We should seriously become best friends. Even if it's a brother/brother kinda deal where we're always flaming each other, but then join forces if anyone dares to fuck with either of us. You probably won't go with the latter, but that's okay. |

Zeeboe, I can't even decipher what you're trying to say anymore. All I came in to say was that I am upset about Conan being off TV for a while. And that I was suspicious of Leno (and not a fan, which is where your issue came in) and his tactics while dealing with this situation.
Where you came up with that other nonsense is truly beyond me. |

But's it's under the NBC umbrella... That has to be some sort of problem right?

NBC doesn't seem to have a problem with Conan doing anything other than hosting the Tonight Show. Case in point:

Interesting.
Has there been any recent talk about when/if Conan is going to appear on Letterman? |

To throw in my two cents on the whole thing with Leno. I used to love Headlines when I was a kid and would watch him on Mondays just for that. His monologue jokes are hackey and the only redeeming quality I've ever seen in him is that he seemed to be a good guy and in that way, he has some likability.
Conan has always been ahead of Leno in "freshness". The writing on his show was always MILES ahead of Leno's stock jokes. He was never afraid to make fun of himself unlike Leno seemed to be and when it comes to just being funny on the fly as a conversationalist and being quick-witted, they're like night and day. Conan was constantly randomly being funny "off script" while Leno I honestly can't remember one example where he actually said something funny during an interview or anything other than just simply making an observation. Also, I still find Conan to be one of the most likable personalities in the history of television. Not sure how Letterman came up but he was in Zeeboe's poll. Letterman's written jokes, just like Leno's are usually pretty awful. When it comes to improvising and just being silly and not caring about taking himself down a peg, he is also way ahead of Leno. I actually watch Letterman sometimes for those facts alone. Letterman is actually funny and witty, written jokes aside. Leno is not. By any stretch of the imagination. But that's just my two cents. |

However George Lopez takes the cake when it comes to late night hosts that want to make me vomit within 2 minutes of their opening monologue. Can we not agree on this?

I disagree. I don't particularly LOVE his stuff, but I enjoy it sometimes. Certainly not vomit-inducing.

Matter of opinion. He's hosting some show really late at night that is mostly watched by unemployed people, and he only gets rookies, never-was's, and has-been's as guests on his show. Seriously. Who is this newbie to be judging anyone? He and others would give their balls to host the best job in comedy, which is the Tonight Show. Him and the rest of the crybabies are all acting like a bunch of jealous girls over this. |
