No way Gronk is 100% for Sunday's game. He'll play but there is no way he'll be at 100%.
Stopping the Patriots is as simple as this: control the line of scrimmage. Penetrate, contain, and stay at home against the run. Collapse the pocket against the pass. Everything else will fall into place. |

Media Week is so tedious. The players get asked the same questions over and over all week and the answers never change.
That being said, for a team whose mantra is "Talk is cheap, play the game" the Giants ran their mouths a lot more this week than the Pats. Guys like Rolle and Jacobs were always going to talk, they've been doing it all year...but you have Manningham barely able to contain his excitement about facing Edelman, JPP saying Brady is afraid of them, Canty guaranteeing a parade on Tuesday, etc. I wish they would shut up and play, but what can you do. Meanwhile the Pats haven't really trash talked at all, they want to avoid another "We're only gonna score 17 points? LOL okay." debacle. So far I think Mad Dog is the only pundit I've heard predicting a Pats win. He thinks Brady is due to bounce back and that the Giants tend to suck when most everybody picks them. It's a stigma the Giants have had for a while along with not being able to win playoff games at home lately. They checked the playoff one off the list this year finally so hopefully they can take care of business on Sunday. Almost here. |

Fast forward to now and its almost a complete reverse. Giants barely squeaked by in the season meeting, Giants trash talking the most, Patriots mostly quiet and focused on the game. Biggest differences is Patriots give up an experienced defense for one that's more hungry to prove they belong while the Giants have moved away from a dominate rush attack to a more pass attack. |

Add Rich Gannon, Adam Schefter, Mark Schlereth, and the weird AccuScore thing ESPN has as predicting the Patriots. Everyone else is with the Giants. Fuck. Pick against us, dammit.
Pats fans seem pretty certain that Edelman is gonna have a good day just because he's been getting shat on by the Giants and the media in general. Probably the closest thing we have in Media Week that resembles Brady's score prediction debacle. |

Kinda leaning toward the Pats right now tbh. Think people are glossing over how the Giants reached the Super Bowl. They clobbered the Falcons at home, but got the Packers at their absolute worst and let's face it, were handed the NFC title by muffed punts.
Not saying the Giants aren't good cause they definitely are. But I'm thinking the Pats might be a little bit better. |

I hope the Giants pass rush goes fucking nuts. So excited. If it's close, I think I'll be able to come to grips with it. If the Giants come out and lay an egg, I'll cry for weeks.

I think I feel more nervous about this game than I was for SB 42 just because all of the pressure was on the Pats going into that one. When the Giants managed to win the East I said that anything they did in the playoffs would be gravy...but now 4 weeks later it's way past that, especially since they're the favorites (unofficially, but still) and they've run their mouths all week. They have to be able to back it up or else they're going to wind up looking like idiots.
As much as I'd love for the Giants to win it easily and break the 4 year streak of competitive Super Bowls, I can't see how this doesn't go down to the wire. It's gonna be a coronary-inducing few hours one way or the other. Can't wait to finally get it started so we can put the neverending hype to rest. #ALLIN |

In all fairness, as good as the Giants have been, I still think the pressure is more on the Patriots. The Giants weren't realistically looked at as a real Super Bowl contender by most people until like after the wild card round at the earliest. They are a 9-7 team after all.

None of the 3 WRs (Carter, Reed, Brown) getting in is just insane. How Carter hasn't gone in yet is beyond me.

I've heard a lot about how Brady and Belichick's legacy will be hurt big time with another SB loss. I don't really see it. 3 SB rings and 5 SB appearances in 11 years is insane any way you slice it. Their spots in Canton are already reserved no matter what. I'd make the argument that Coughlin and Eli's legacy has more at stake. A win would make Coughlin a definite HOFer (2 rings, 4 Conference title games, great overall record, successfully built 2 franchises) and Eli would be in a position to get in with a couple more good statistical seasons. Pretty crazy. |

Martin made it to the Hall.
Really loved that guy as a player and hated when he left as part of the Parcells deal for the Jets. Not completely shocked at Carter and Reed being left out because for some strange reason the Hall doesn't value WRs as strongly as everyone else does. Usually the players to get most of the hype are either at the QB, RB, and WR position but the Hall doesn't favor the WRs (or at least the recent batch sans Rice). Really shocked at Parcells not making it since he was a great coach for multiple teams and his legacy really shines when you consider tomorrow's SB game involves coaches from his coaching tree. |

Thought for sure Aldon Smith would make Defensive Rookie of the Year. At least the superior Harbaugh got the nod.

Happy for those who got in. Sad Bettis didn't even make top 10 but can understand with 2 Steelers (Dawson and Butler) and 2 Pitt players (Martin and Doleman) making it where it would run thin in the voting room.
Shocked not one of those WR didn't get in. Figured 1 each the next few years. |

Patriots release WR Tiquan Underwood and sign DE Alex Silvestro off their practice squad. Appearently the Pats want an extra DE to rotate in and out and for special teams.
It sounds really cold at first, but all it really does is confirm that Ochocinco is going to play and that Underwood was probably going to be inactive anyway. I think/hope that he'll get signed to their practice squad to replace Silvestro so that he can still be on the sidelines for the game. |

My favorite part of the awards show has been Alec asking who's excited for the Super Bowl and when they panned the crowd none of the current NFL players were applauding for it. Good 'ol bitterness.

While I cant "argue" anyone who made the Hall....No WR is garbage. All 3 should and will make it. Thought this was Reeds Year. He retired top 3 in all WR stats and has far better numbers than most of the WE wing. Thought he might sneak in this year due not making it in the past, to clear the WE log jam, then making it easier for Brown and Carter.

Don't you think they over-due WRs a bit in the Hall of Fame? Sort of glad they took a break from that position this year.

Is Eddie George a HOF RB? Because he had almost similar career numbers over the exact same time span.
