Its not that certain people here (myself quite clearly included) don't like Ghostbusters, it is that they/we think Pulp Fiction is quite clearly a superior film. |

Isn't that the point of the competition? Is everybody supposed to agree in unison on every movie?

Well I tried to look at things somewhat objectively. I think a balance can be struck. If you legitimately think Ghostbusters is a better movie than Pulp Fiction (or Fight Club), all things considered, then thats cool. If however Ghostbusters is your favourite and you have made absolutely no attempt to assess the two films qualities beyond that, well thats just immoral

No I am just intelligent enough to realise that my 'favourite' may not in actual fact always be 'the best'.

lol, here we go again. Unless there is some sort of set criteria in which we are to base our decisions off of, the movie we enjoyed the most is most likely going to win. Also, why would I vote for a movie I didn't like as much over a favorite movie of mine? It wouldn't make sense. How could I say "I enjoyed Ghostbusters alot more than Pulp Fiction, but Pulp Fiction is a better movie"? Aren't enjoyment and watchability the main factors here?

In light of this evidence, I'd like to go back and change my vote for Better Movie #1.

I know it's all subjective but I cannot understand why Ghostbusters is lagging so far behind. Stumped.
