Honestly, they never should have mentioned Apocalypse. As great as this looks, I just want it to be over so they can start on the sequel.

So dumb that they announced it like that. Would have made an amazing post-credit scene, on the same level as Thanos in Avengers.

Holy shit that looks good.

As shit as the Original Trilogy ended up as, using this to reboot it if done right could make this Avengers level. I liked first class, and itsa good start. If they reboot based off this film and building on first class, making this which looks great and then Apocalypse I think it could end up being some of the best Comic book films ever.

Couple things -

1) Charles can walk again...starts in a wheel chair then is walking on his own when they bust out magneto. Not sure that they are going to do to explain that.
2) Future Fighting looks good. Bishop shooting through Blinks portal is cool. Seems like Blinks teleportation is like the Portal Gun.
3) Somehow Magneto is in jail? Weird how they have that going.
4) Thought about Bone Claws a minute. If this is in the 70s it makes sense. In Origins he didnt get adamantium until the 80s then lost his memory. So Logan is going back into his body from the 70s and I think it must be just after he abandons Strikers team since he was fighting in Vietnam when Striker recruited him. So this may lead to Wolverine not having adamantium in the sequel to this as well.
5) Love the idea that in 20 years between this movie and the original X Men, Xavier goes from a young angry drunk McAvoy who is like 30 to Stoic leader Patrick Stewart age 60.
6) Time Travel Aspects...Obviously this creates a new timeline when they alter the past. But it doesnt make sense. So we are led to think that Patrick Stewart sends Wolverine back 50 years to stop the sentinels from being made in the 70s. But by that logic shouldnt there have been Sentinels in all the other X Men Movies? I dont see how there wasnt Sentinels killing Magneto in the 3rd movie when he starts a war.

Didn't wolverine end up with just the bone claws at the end of The Wolverine? Those clips could be after that point. Seems like it'd be better if they had him slicing sentinels with adamantium claws.

No...pretty sure he still had adamantium after The Wolverine.

Lets be honest, when they rebooted with First Class, it was clear as day they gave two shits about the canon they created previously with the other films. This is a stitched together movie, and they're doing it as best they can, but clearly some things wont add up at all between Origins, X Trilogy, and First Class.

In the Wolverine his claws cut off but bone claws grow back. But that would be in 200X

I could be wrong but I think Wolverine joins striker in Vietnam and does that squad with deadpool etc, quits in the 70s and goes and lives his life - tracked down does Weapon X in 80s then causes 3 mile isle incident. Then wanders till 90s when X Men find him.

So his body in those days was pre weapon X. So if they keep going from here on out into Apoclypse unless it resets time he will never have adamantium.

Are you sure? Im racking my brain here trying to remember....I know at the beginning when he saves that guy in the well, he has bone claws...but at the end, he has adamantium.

I remember the scene where he fights dude with the katana and cuts it, and I remember the scene where whats his face begins to drill into his hands to obtain his adamantium...did he remove it?

Gonna have to google this.

Its all about the time travel aspect. Logans body doesnt go through time just his mind. So realistically anything happening in the Wolverine movie means nothing.

As long as when he arrives in the 70s he doesnt already have the metal in his body, which I dont think he does, evidence by the trailer, I would assume this will alter time and he will no longer undergo weapon x

Biggest head scratcher for me is what Hanso said about the sentinels not being in the other movies. Hope that it is addressed in some way.

A good thought. Seeing as how they're moving forward with the First Class cast for future movies, and Wolverine will have a third movie, he could potentially rewrite his own history. But Stryker is not the only man who could do this to Wolverine.

Quite simply; they lacked the tech and story requirements to use Sentinels in the original trilogy. Just something we gotta roll with. Or maybe the original trilogy is the results of this coming storyline. When it comes to time travel stories, maybe best not to think about it too much.

Guy in well takes place in 1945, according to the movie lore Logan gets his adamantium sometime in the 80's while The Wolverine takes place roughly in the present. Will have to double check but I DO believe that in the after credits scene where Magneto tracks him down Wolverine does set off the metal detector which would indicate he still has his skeleton just not his adamantium claws, although they could retro that but saying his little woman had them replaced...

The Wolverine inb DOFP is the future Wolvie ported into the pasts body, it will be interesting to see if the past Wolverine ends up awake in the future ones body or kept unconscious like Kitty was in the comic.

Took a look at the end scene again and he opts for the pat down rather then going through which could either indicate he still has the skeleton or he likes his balls squeezed, in any case the assumption is he has his bone claws at the end of this movie and because DOFP takes place BEFORE Xmen Origins Wolverine he has bone claws in this one as well. Whether or not his future version has adamantium claws remains to be seen.
