I went from $13.98 (I get blu-rays) and it's going to $19.98. That's fucking robbery.
The stock keeps going up and they throw this out to us hard workers at a time like this. Kinda makes me wanna take a look at Blockbuster's deal. |

Blockbuster would probably be even more expensive with no streaming.
Blockbusters deal is only good if you have an actual store near you. What I do is watch my movies on fridays or saturdays, take em back to the store and exchange for a new movie to watch saturday or sunday, take it back to the store on monday, and they ship out a new movie by tuesday which usually gets to me by Friday. Rinse/Repeat. Though I have the major issue that my now one local store hates blu ray, but you can exchange a movie for a game..and you can keep movies/games from the store for as long as you like, they just wont ship out a new movie to you until you return the store rental. |

So I'm paying like 80 bucks for Amazon Prime anyway.
I didn't get it for Video on Demand, but they offer it to me on top of the free two-day shippiung. That's a necessity here because the post office are a bunch of package abusing retards. If I buy a Roku, that's about 2/3 a year of Netflix streaming and I can stream to my TV for "free." Even when you consider that I'm paying for Prime, that's annual cost of half the price of a year of netflix streaming and one up front investment that would take the first year to a little over a year's cost. Is there ANY reason I sholdn't just drop Netflix? |

Netflix is starting to remind me of AOL in the 90s. It was the first company to fully harness this market, but as competition comes in from deep pocketed competitors I think they're going to have a harder time. Amazon Prime and Hulu prime are starting to look like more attractive options for me because most current shows are up instantly the next day on those sites in addition to having previous seasons while Netflix only has previous seasons. Also, if Yahoo purchases Hulu as rumored that's even deeper capital.
Plus if Netflix continues to acquire and produce original content, cable and movie providers might start to pull content and give it to more neutral providers like Hulu or Amazon Prime. Showtime already did it with Dexter and Californication after Netflix scooped up House of Cards. |

The X-men cartoon has rekindled my interest in the comic books, movies and games. It's one of those shows that I used to watch as a kid, but only remember bits and pieces of. Being able to go back and watch and get the back stories on all the characters is awesome. Seems like I'll be keeping my subscription for at least one more month.
On a more random note, Flashpoint is also a really good show. |

Each episode is only like 20 minutes too and ends on a cliffhanger so it's hard to get up and walk away. Sad I know, but x-men is the goods.

The price hike is still staying in effect though regardless of the removal of Qwikster.
Stocks-wise, not much has changed since everyone is still pissed at the price hike more than the decision to split the company into 2 mini-companies. Also won't know until October 24 how many out of the 25 million subscribers dropped but the company hinted it was huge and they expected at least 1/3 less in revenue as a result. |

It was 1 million dropped. Read it on CNN. I'll find the article if you want, though I'm sure it's prob still on the front page.
Really want to know if they're still gonna get into games. Want GameFly back, but if Netflix can offer a better price I'm all over it Edit: Oops, nevermind. That number was from when they did the split back in July. But yeah, I'd expect the number to be about the same anyway |

I was one of those million. Nothing good to stream and we use Redbox now and don't even use that enough to spend $8/month.

Deep Space Nine is up along with the Animated Series. All Star Trek TV shows are now streaming.
Get on the ball George Lucas. Put up whatever animated shows you have. |

Netflix is down 800K subscribers from three months ago, and just took a pretty big stock hit. I'm pretty sure nobody's shocked that they lost customers, but they've still got well over 20 million.
Hopefully, they're done making retarded decisions and can get back to delivering awesome content. |
