As it is, the Giants get to stay (mildly) relevant for another week. But they'd still need the impossible to happen to win the division. They need to win out, which is going to be pretty damn hard given their schedule. Moreover, Dallas and Philadelphia can only win one more game each. One of those teams getting 9 wins eliminates the Giants. Further complicating this is that they play each other at the end of the year. So they need one team to lose their next 3 and then beat the other team (who could have won no more than 1 game) in the finale. Fun to think about but yeah, not gonna happen.
Giants at least made it a little interesting but in reality the season ended at 0-6. Too big of a hole to climb out of for virtually any team. If they could have avoided some dumb turnovers and hung in there to win, say, the first Dallas game and the Chicago game it would be a different story. But they didn't. Not losing Andre Brown for 8 weeks would have been huge, too. I do like what I've seen lately though so I have some optimism going into next year. I really hope Beason is back in 2014. They took a low-risk gamble on him and he's been fantastic. |

I love Beason, I forgot what having a capable linebacker is like.

Sadly it appears Beason is a free agent next year. I have to assume his play could earn him a nice payday but I really, really hope the Giants can find the room to bring him back.
Based on this site, it seems the Giants will have plenty of ways to generate cap room: http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Giants&Year=2014 Snee would save $7.25M off of next year's cap if cut. May save even more if he chooses to retire outright from his hip surgeries. Rolle would also save $7.25M, I have to assume he'll either be asked to take a pay cut and if not he'll be released. Baas and Kiwanuka are both options to be cut, but there's so much dead money there I'm not sure the Giants would want to pay them that much to not play for them any more. Not sure why Myers and Webster are listed on there as everything I've read suggests they're both on 1-year deals set to expire, so figure there's some more wiggle room there. Beatty has been a disaster but there's no way they'll get rid of him. He'd actually cause them to LOSE $8M+ in cap space. |

Peyton is 9 TD away from tying the record with 4 games to go. Early on it seemed like him breaking it would be a foregone conclusion but now it could be pretty close.
I think he'll get it though. If Denver and New England stay within a game of one another for the top seed, Denver will have no reason to bench him. |

Yeah...so if they weren't already Seattle has to be the far and away favorite to come out of the NFC. The road to the SB is probably going through that stadium.

First off...Seattle is the goods. If this game was on a sunday at 4:25, it would've been a lot closer. These kids live to dominate on the big stage.
Secondly, nobody can beat them in Seattle, if they're healthy. Thirdly, is Kris P okay? Lets send somebody to sit with him for a week. |

Teams looking for a QB in the draft can scratch a name off their wish list. Marcus Mariota is staying at Oregon. Between that and Zach Mettenberger's torn ACL, Johnny Football and Derek Carr's stocks have gone way up.

Mike Tomlin hit with a $100k fine for his "interfering" with the kickoff return back on Thanksgiving.
Steelers may also lose draft picks. But that's up in the air right now. |

It would certainly dissuade coaches/players from interfering with the play on the field.

The Falcons/Lions London game next year will start at 1:30 PM local time - meaning a 9:30 AM EST start time for the United States.

Andrew Luck reminds me of Rothlisberger. I can see him taking the Colts to the Superbowl. I can also see the Colts getting blown out in the first round. I just don't know.

Looking at the Ravens' remaining games, I think they could go 2-2, which would put them at 8-8 for the year. With how weird the AFC is, that could be good enough for a Wildcard.

They could also go 0-4 or 4-0. NFL is crazy stuff.

I wouldn't say Phillips got "promoted", more like warming the seat for the next Face of the Texans.
