I don't know. If I said "The Steelers Browns game next week is gonna be for the 6 seed!" (which I wouldn't... because it just doesn't make sense to say.) and then someone questioned me, I'd probably explain "I mean if San Diego, Baltimore and Miami loses, it would be for the 6th seed." and that would be that. As opposed to trying this pissy, ridiculous "How do you not understand that I was just saying it the way the NFL would say it if it were flexed!" as if it's their fault for not building this ridiculous loophole where that isn't a wrong statement. BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

Here's the actual playoff scenarios for next week though. Arizona has a good shot at ending up 11-5 and being 3rd in their division and missing the playoffs. Just shows how lopsided the NFC divisions are. |

So I'm still a little confused. If Baltimore and Miami win next week but the Charger's lose then Baltimore gets in?

Correct. Because Baltimore beat Miami, they would be the 6 seed if the two teams finish with the same record.
Miami takes it with a three-way tie, though, because of their conference record. |

SammyG, i will be on your side next week. Hope The Rams murder the Hawks somehow in Seattle.
Assuming the 9ers don't lay an egg to the Falcons tonight. I could see it happening. |

So tonight is a pretty big deal. Didn't realize how many 'big' games were played in Candlestick park.

Crazy that the 49ers can miss the playoffs with they lose out and Seattle wins next week, and they can get the #1 seed if they win out and Seattle loses.

So you'd rather be 4-12 like last year? Do you really think Romo won't choke the big one yet again?
Why haven't you changed your catchphrase? Andy was fired. |

Now they came out and cut a promo saying that Romo might be able to come back.
Could be a tactic to throw their opponent off. Week 17 is going to be interesting as helllllll |

I actually like Kyle Orton as a backup.
But he's still a backup. And the thought of him having to drive the ball down the field repeatedly to make up for a defense that is allowing opposing offenses to put up gaudy numbers scares me. |

Regardless of what happens, I fully expect the fact that Romo lead two late drives and threw a 4th down do-or-die touchdown pass in a must-win game to get Dallas to this week to be forgotten instantly. You know... you gotta ignore the clutch performances and record amount of comebacks in order to view things how you want.

Cannot even believe that game. I have been a part of some of the most ridiculous eruptions during San Francisco sports games the last couple of years. Matt Cain's Perfect Game was the loudest I had been a part of...until Bowman's interception.

Thought the Secret Santa one was the best. Funniest thing in all over them was. Richard Sherman saying "I threw 5 int this week". Then one the qb's says "hey that's Eli's line". Sherman "yeah, I know I intercepted it"

Cannot fucking believe the Giants could wind up finishing 7-9 after starting 0-6.
I can't wait to see what kind of contract Nicks gets next year. If he had stayed healthy and had a year even close to what he did in 2011, he'd have gotten a monster multi-year deal from somebody. Instead he continues to get banged up, missed the biggest game of the year, and is staring a year with 0 TD right in the face. I still think he'll get a multi-year deal from somebody, but I think the guaranteed money will be relatively low so the team can get out of it if he gets hurt again. Giants made the right call in making locking up Cruz the priority over Nicks. Mind Cruz only had 4 TD this year (none since week 4) but at least he still got close to 1,000 yards receiving and would have easily eclipsed it were it not for the injury. Big plays down field are still his specialty and where he gets most of his TDs, but the Giants haven't really been able to bomb it down field when Eli gets swarmed every other time he has to drop back. They'll go O-line in either the first or second round, if not both. Probably will draft a new WR to groom as well to compete with Jernigan for the #3 spot. Dunno how sold I am on Randle being a #2, he seems to work best as a #3, but they'll have to make due unless they can find budget room to pick up a solid #2 WR in free agency, if there are any out there. |
