CM Punk versus Jericho would be gold, but if they are ever going to truly put someone over on Taker's streak and let them end it, it has to be Punk. However, I think you have to re-turn Punk heel in order to do it, after Mania especially.
I wouldn't mind seeing this Mania. CM Punk versus Jericho (it only makes sense based on the itbegins video's "This will be the end of your world as you know it" ; CM Punk being the best in the world. It brings Jericho in as a heel and is perfect as I have always liked Jericho best as a heel. Rock versus Cena- Enough said. But I honestly hope the Rock wins, and Cena snaps after the match. Destroys the Rock, makes him bleed whatever. Next night on Raw, Cena turns on everyone, saying he's been here for 7 years and yet people still cheer for someone who bails on them. This leads to Rock versus Cena at Summerslam, which Cena wins and leads finally to Rock versus Cena at Survivor Series next year to end the year long war between the Rock and Cena in what is deemed the "Final match between the two". Miz versus The Undertaker- The more I think about this match, the more I like it. Miz could even be the one that defeats Taker and ends the streak. The way Miz talks on the mic, he fears nothing to be the best. In order to do that, he would have to go through Taker. Cody Rhodes versus Ted Dibiase- As former partners in Legacy and that short stint they had together as a team this past summer, I think this would a great culmination to their feud. Ted's popularity is growing, although Cody has been getting a great amount of face pops lately. If Rhodes is still champion, have him drop the belt to DiBiase and give him some time with the belt. This begins Rhodes' rise to the WHC. Mark Henry versus Kane- This seems to be the overwhelmingly popular decision for the two. Kane returns with his mask at the Royal Rumble and decimates the field...only for Mark Henry to cost him the match by interferring and tossing Kane out. This leads to Kane costing Mark Henry the title at Elimination Chamber which sets the match up between the two. Big Show versus Kevin Nash- Yeah I know, a lot of people do not want to see it. But I've wanted to see it again. You have the motive to do it too. Nash hates Big Show because of his success and Show wants to kill Nash for almost breaking his neck back in WCW. Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio- Strictly dependent on whether Rey Rey can return before Mania, but if he can, I would put the two together. You have the ability to use Mysterio's high fliying to his advantage, and Del Rio could use the win over Rey to further catapult his career. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger versus Kofi Kingston/Evan Bourne versus Hunico and Primo versus Zack Ryder and Sheamus. The interaction between Sheamus and Ryder indicates that they may or may not go somewhere with this. This is for the Tag Team titles and is done under fatal four way rules. Have the last two teams be Ziggler/Swagger and Ryder/Sheamus and have Ryder/Sheamus win the titles. After the match, Ziggler turns on Swagger calling him the weak link of the team. Randy Orton versus Daniel Bryan versus Wade Barrett. Barrett wins the title at the Elimination Chamber from Mark Henry. Randy Orton wins the Royal Rumble and vows to face Barrett at Mania, wanting to get back his World title. Bryan, holding true to his word, cashes in the Money in the Bank contract. Bryan pins Barrett to claim his first WHC. Dolph Ziggler versus R-Truth. WWE is very keen on Ziggler working two matches a PPV, so have him do it here. This is for the US Title and actually happens before the Tag Match that Ziggler is involved in later in the night. Swagger interferes to help Ziggler allowing him to retain, but Ziggler turns on Swagger later on in the night. Woman's battle Royal for the Diva's title.- Get thrown out of the ring and you are eliminated. Match features a returning Layla, Michelle McCool and Kharma. Kharma wins the match, ending the reign of the two woman power trip and completes her return to the ring. |

Tyler Reks has jumped in on the Internet video campaign trend, making an animated video with the help of Curt Hawkins and Tyson Kidd. The audio is shit, but hey it's a start. I definitely LOL'ed at a couple of parts:

I can't really picture getting into any Taker match this year. MAYBE Punk but even then, Punk wouldn't stand a chance no matter how hard I'd try to convince myself otherwise. It's at the point now where I'd almost agree with "Fuck it, just do Cole vs Taker."

I'd book it like this...
Main Event John Cena vs The Rock WWE Title Match CM Punk vs The Miz (c) (Miz wins the title at TLC in a TLC match after Lauranaitis starts sending guys out to keep Punk from winning. Punk ends up putting Lauranaitis in the anaconda vice on Raw the next night and gets punished with a suspension and his rematch taken away. He spends his 30 day suspension buying tickets to every event and having fun with the crowd, getting slightly involved once in a while. He comes back for the rumble and wins it. Miz can go into WM boasting that this is the second straight year he's walked into WM as champ and will be the second straight year he walks out as champ.) World Title Match Daniel Bryan vs Mark Henry (c) For the Streak Chris Jericho vs The Undertaker Falls Count Anywhere Triple H vs Kevin Nash (Triple H makes his return after TLC calling out Nash but Nash only shows up via satellite to tell Trips that he's got his guaranteed contract and he doesn't have to do anything but sit at home and collect his money. Triple H gets a side story going with Cena to keep the Nash feud from getting stale. After weeks of constant legends coming out and telling Cena that he needs to figure out the fans, Triple H tells Cena he needs him to be on his A game for the sake of his company. This leads to HHH offering Cena a match with him at the Rumble. Nash returns at the Rumble again to attack HHH and decides he wants to have his WM moment and beat HHH just like he beat Shawn at WM XI. HHH makes it no holds barred to give Nash a fighting chance at putting on an entertaining match.) US Title Match Zack Ryder vs Dolph Ziggler (c) (I just don't want this feud to end. It would take some good writing and a few times of Ryder getting screwed out of his one on one match. Maybe Laurinaitis grants him a title shot at TLC but then makes it a fatal four-way with Mason Ryan and Swagger for starters. Ryder winning the title at WrestleMania though would be a HUGE moment. Unfortunately I have little faith in WWE being able to pull it off.) IC Title Match Sheamus vs Cody Rhodes(c) (I just think Sheamus is amazing and thus him facing Cody trying to end his long, amazing title reign would be pretty epic.) Then I was thinking something along the lines of Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay joining forces again and winning the tag titles soon and defending them against Rey Mysterio and R-Truth. Also, Beth Pheonix defending the Diva's title against a returning Layla. Layla ending Beth's dominant reign as champion in dramatic fashion could be what she needs to be the next Trish Stratus-like mega-diva. Then of course, Orton vs Austin if at all possible. And Barrett's gotta do something. Man this could be a packed card. |

It did top out with Michaels. The interest in Taker's streak is kinda destined to be on a downward slide unless they go Cena vs Taker next year. That's literally the only match they can possibly book Taker in that would be intriguing. As for this year, they're kinda fucked.

Just watching WCW Wrestle War '90: Wild Thing. The Undertaker is in it, before he was the Undertaker, of course, but it's so weird seeing him like this. Who'd have imagined how huge of a legend he would become in the wrestling industry. I wonder if the people watching him in 1990 thought he'd go on to achieve such fame and success?

Probably not if it was just based on his work in WCW especially him leaving after just 1-2 years with the company.
His early WWF years were much better in comparison especially with how good the Undertaker gimmick took off with the crowd. |
