It was a KO. The referee let it go and Burns went for it. That's a KO. Unless he was going to stop the action for an eye poke, the action continued as it should. It wasn't the eye poke that stopped the fight. An eye poke turned the fight. Big difference. Referees have missed nut shots a ton of times. Should all those matches be viewed again and have decisions overturned? God no.

Yeah. Shit happens. Fight the guy again if it is that important to you, or just move on. Focus on getting more wins, instead of trying to get a disputed loss overturned.
I mean, for fuck sake, if he is as good as he says, then this loss won't matter one fucking bit in 12 months. |

He didn't even fall like he got punched.. He grabbed his eye and slowly fell..
It in no way shape of form looked like a knock out.. It looked like an eye poke, even at full speed when it happened.. After the fact, like 30 second after Mazzagotti called it, it was exposed what happened.. At that point they should have given Johnson the 5 minutes and continued the fight or gfiven him the TKO victory.. And Fabien, you making it out like Johnson is being petty makes you look like a huge asshole.. He was nothing but a complete class act the night it happened and has continued to act accordingly since.. It was a horrid call and he in no way shape or form lost that fight.. He got poked in the eye several times, the last one bad enough to cause him to need surgery, and he loses the fight over it.. Nothing about that is right.. |

That's why there needs to be a secondary ref watching monitors for illegal moves and whatnot..
Just as I said earlier.. |

You Americans are obsessed with fucking replays and more referees
Seriously though, there ain't two refs in boxing or an instant replay and that sport has been going for over 100 years. This was one mistake in one fight. Humour error is part of life and should be part of sport. |

Us Americans are constantly trying to evolve the rules and whatnot to take away the human error factor of sports..
Boxing is a dead sport while MMA is constantly growing and evolving.. |

Im not saying that they should use instant replay for KOs in general, but in a case where a replay shows difinitively that there was not a KO then it should be overturned, especially given the fact that Burns was warned about it before it happened. |

Fuck instant replays. Fuck overturning results due to human error. Matt Hughes got kicked in the balls and was on the verge of being stopped against Frank Trigg and he pulled it back. If he would have lost that fight, nobody would have said "oh let's overturn it on an instant replay". The eye poke wasn't even deliberate. |

I think it's quite mad that they are billing the Lesnar/Couture fight as the biggest fight in UFC history.

Some people are gonna be humbled after the next TUF season. Either we'll find out Britain has some legit fighters here (other than Bisping) or we'll get humbled.
I'm thinking the former. At BJJ last night, the coaches were already talking up the idea of intense training for a couple of guys for try outs. And there aren't many better submission guys out there right now than Roger Gracie. |

I don't feel sorry for him at all.. He knew what weight he'd be fighting at and still came in that out of shape.. He should've been cutting weight the weeks coming into it knowing that he'd fight within the first 48 hours of being there..

Yeah it wasn't like any of the guys were in the dark about fighting onto the show this season
The weird looking guy was right, he should have been sleeping in his sauna suit. No excuse for that. Browning looks legit though |

I love Clay and prolly would've been a fan of his too, but I can not respect someone who knows this is their only shot and is in a position that thousands of other guys wish they were in, only to throw it away by not being properly prepared..

None of the fighters were told they'd be fighting to get into the house. They were however told to make sure they were at a certain weight before they showed up and apparently Jason Guida was at that weight. Bottom line is he just didn't cut the weight.
I am kinda interested to see how Tom Lawlor does on the show. |

That's bullshit, Rob..
They said during season 7 that every season from then on, you were going to have to fight your way into the house.. He is a 205 fighter who came in double digits overweight.. |

How is it bullshit? They were not told they would be fighting to get in the house. They weren't told they wouldn't be either. Tom Lawlor said on BTR this week he wasn't told he was fighting and Jason Guida also said he wasn't told. They should have known though but they still weren't told.
And your math is fucked dude. Guida weighed in 2lbs overweight. 1lbs officially. Other fighters came into the gym 10lbs+ overweight but they cut it. Guida didn't and that's the bottom line. I don't give a fuck if they walk in the building 50lbs overweight and then make weight. You know you have to make weight and some guys are better at it than others. In his defence, you also get two attempts to weigh in for a fight in Nevada and he only got one attempt. Technically he was pulled from fighting and not because he didn't make weight. Also technically Gomi vs. Diaz was a no contest but we all know what really happened. |

Diaz smokes the weed..
He was 11lbs over when he first started cutting.. Dude also I don't care how much over they come in if they can make the weight.. He dug his own grave by coming in over and not being able to.. He is a 205lbs fighter and should have showed up closer to that weight.. The fact that he didn't is what ultimately caused him to leave.. Pretty much threw away an opportunity thousands of guys would die for.. They might not have been specifically told, but last season Dana White made it crystal clear that he was tried of guys quitting and whatnot so they were gonna have to fight their way onto the show from there on out.. Atleast it was clear to me, even if Jason Guida didn't "get it".. |

For the record, Bobby Southworth cut weight from 228lbs to 206lbs on season 1 and he won his fight. That's DOUBLE the amount of weight Guida had to cut.
