dunno, doesn't seem too hard to work around a 30 date maximum from now to Mania, it's about 6 months on, 4 months off. If they bring him back around the end of July for SummerSlam, a couple of months away at the end of the year and they're pretty much sorted

Considering the amount of manouveres they do allow its suprising that that style of piledriver is still outlawed. The sitout tombstone as we all know can be dodgy, but the variation of piledriver in that vid should be safe for just about any wrestler to deliver with some practice. |

but with how many guys they have that aren't "technically proficient"/full on greenhorns etc, it's no surprise. I only mention the 30 years part because of you mentioning "fine at a basketball game". If there's anybody on the face of the earth I'd trust piledrive me on a basketball court, it'd be Lawler. In fact, I'd rather take a piledriver from King on a basketball court than a bunch of WWE guys in a wrestling ring.
And it's not so much piledrivers outlawed as it is head drops in general I think. I can't think of anything off the top of my head (so I could be wrong) that guys are permitted to/do use on a regular basis more dangerous than a piledriver |

That way they can feature him on every PPV and he can help the buyrate. Guess they figure it's better to have him for the full schedule in the build to 6-7 PPVs that the full load. |

Triple H vs Lesnar is probably going to eat a chunk of the dates left since no way that ends after 1 match/ppv. WWE probably won't be as bad as TNA was with RVD where they wasted almost all his dates early on and then had to take the title off of him since he couldn't defend it without using up more dates. |

Wish i could find that video of Stevie Ray sandbagging The Giant and getting drilled with the Chokeslam anyway, that was a real jaw dropper. Of course not on youtube anymore.
Edit: found it ed 2 vid with slow mo added Last edited by Gerard; 05-03-2012 at 05:17 PM. |

once that momentum is gone and both guys are trying too hard to "get it back", everything can go to shit very easily. Guys stop communicating, start rushing etc and it all just falls apart. I'd put money on Swagger not giving him a cue to go for the 2nd attempt because it was live on RAW and he was rushing. Literally can take a split second of mistiming for something like that to happen, especially something like a gutwrench, that relies on timing/fluid motion/momentum etc.

even here you can see the mistiming in the slow motion bit, doesn't look like he sandbags him, seems Stevie's still dipping downwards to spring off and go up when Giant is starting to lift him. Split-second of mistiming and that's how it turns out. If there's even a bit of momentum from Stevie in the right direction, given the fact Show still got him up, he probably soars up and it looks "how it's supposed to". Crazy strength

This ones always good for a laugh:
I cant be sure but i think i remember someone saying that on the dvd they edited that chokeslam out entirely and instead used a different camera angle shot of this one later in the match: |

Wow, if that's legit, they did an awesome job of covering that up. DVD I have of the event has the crappy Chokeslam, though.

Wade Barrett currently shooting a film with Colin Farrell, Terrance Howard and Dominic Cooper, directed by the guy that did the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, co-financed by WWE Studios. Prettyyy impressive lineup, by far the most promising cast from anything WWE-related.

Ryback's theme does sound familiar to me but I can't put my finger on it.
Was probably BGM for one of the games or something. |

Damn, was on WWE.com and was looking at HBK's profile under the Hall of Fame. It finally just sunk into me that Shawn Michaels will likely never wrestle again and is absolutely done as anything close to a regular character. Feeling old, confused and sad.
Much like Vince McMahon, I'm sure. |
