Lawler: "When the Ultimate Warrior spoke, I don't think anyone understood what he was saying, which was probably a good thing. I don't even think Warrior knew what he was saying, which was probably an even better thing."

Ultimate Warrior was the man. I was just thinking the other day about how WWE should have another Ultimate Warrior character. Just a guy who screams things that are jumbled and not understandable.
Seriously, the guy was Awesome: No idea what he says here, but it is just pure Awesome. |

Randy Savage and Rick Rude were the only ones that made Warrior look good in the ring.

Warrior no sells a pile driver at 4:14!!! Now that just wouldn't happen these days. Seriously though the Warrior to me back then and even now was a real stand out superstar. He was never the greatest in the ring but I believe he is slightly underated. If you look at his matches against the likes of Owen Hart, Macho Man, Jerry Lawler, Ted Dibiase, Rick Rude he can go if he is led around the match by a real veteran in the ring. However if he goes against awkward bastards like Andre (god bless his soul) then he is obviously shown up. I think WWF didn't protect him enough in that respect. I always feel if Warrior feuded with Jake the Snake when they were doing the "trust me Warrior" segments and he had some high profile feuds with Owen Hart then he could have had some great matches. Around the time of Wrestlemania 6 Warrior had a huge following one that rivalled Hogans in my opinion. Also if you look at Raw in 96 and the appearances the Warrior made around that time he still had a huge following. He should have been the poster boy for WWE for 10 years at least but sadly because of issues outside the ring and his constant feud with Vince (the love hate relationship) it just never worked out. Like it or not the guy is a legend and has done very well from wrestling and WWF has done very well from the Ultimate Warrior/Jim Hellwig. |

Man seeing The Bladerunners first match again is amazing I haven't seen that for a long long time but they really could have been a tag team to be reckoned with if they were given time to gel and develop. Maybe TNA should reunite them!
By the way I found this match - Warrior vs Ted Dibiase in Japan! Both working stiff, the crowd are well into the match. Actually I haven't heard anything like this in a long time maybe the Warrior didn't capitalize on how popular he was in Japan? I know I would have seriously considered it after leaving WWF he could have made serious money in Japan. No sell of a piledriver at 7:05!!! Notice how much better Warrior seems in this match? Why because he is being led around the ring by a real veteran. |
