Way to dodge the real issue, repeatedly.

I just don't care what you think. No go post that in your blog and don't forget to mention how much it hurts you.

Seriously dunno tho. Usually at this point I have figured out what they are going for with an album. Still kind of confused about Hz.
Going to see them on Sept. 20th, hopefully will "get it" by then. Feel like I like it less after each listen. Seems like they deconstructed everything that made MPP great and are going back to their more individualistic sonic roots. I mean granted I'm nothing more than a freelance music journalist that writes only for TPWW music forums, but so far I am still on the fence. Still better than 90% of what's come out this year tho. Need to wait for Pitchfork to review it before I can really make up my mind because I don't want to sound of out step with my demographic |

Sorta feel like I will never listen to it again besides that 1 song. I don't really like it that much. It is ok I guess.

This is a massive album to take in at once. Way more complex/dense than anything they have ever done

This album makes MPP sound like Beach House - Teen Dream (2010, Pitchforks BNM, #5 record of 2010, a personal favorite and a true hipster classic that I only have an opinion on because I've heard other hipsters talk about how its song structures are really simple and thats why Beach House is good) in terms of complexity and song structure.
Pretty sure this is why it has taken me so long to wrap my brain around it. Each song has at least 5 distinct parts, each part overblown with dozens of samples that somehow work together miraculously. But even with each song snaking into a different shape every few minutes, they all retain a core element which unifies the track all the way through.. |

Just realized that if I ever perform a Patrick Bateman-esque ritual murder on Kane Knight, my 5 minute monologue would be on why Loch Raven is one of the most important and under-appreciated works of modern American art regardless of medium.
Please note that this does not constitute a written threat, either implied or explicit. It is intended for the purpose of satire, and should be interpreted as such. -Bender & Bender™ Law Firm |

Wow holy shit a critical look at an album you are convinced people only like because they hear other people liking it. What place does my own opinion have in this discussion?
Shouldn't this personal take shatter your entire worldview? |

That is ironic. If I had to pick out one person from that conversation who is a malign, vindictive creep it would probably not be Buzzkill.

final verdict: great, but maybe a lil too "claustrophobic" and kinda exhausting.
after being submerged in this album for a few days strawberry jam sounds like a straightforward pop album... |

give it time + volume.
needs a lot of patience even by AC standards...and blasting it in the car has made it even better and gets me "seriously amped", something no AC album has really done before |

Even a week ago was more an album that I "admired" than loved, but am currently really loving it. Every song gives me "goosebumps"
