Update:
It's made $192.1 million in seven days. If it makes another $8 million today, it'll beat the first Spider-Man in being the fastest film to hit $200 million. For the record, I would go with Green Goblin II and The Lizard as the villains for the next movie. |

The cool thing is that they've already built Curt Conners. He's established, and ready to become a villain. I just wish they had actually introduced Brock at some point in this movie. We all know Venom's the most-wanted villain in the series, and we all know that they're gonna have to do up a movie invoilving him eventually, so they might as well lay the foundation.

He wasn't really introduced, but it's been leaking on the internet that his name is in the movie. When the close-up of the newspaper article "Spider-Man No More" happens, in the lower right-hand corner, it says "Photograph by Eddie Brock."

Innovator's pretty much on it. I pointed out to my friend that JAmeson's how the symbiote was introduced in the cartoon. I mean, they have to pull it from somewhere, and I don't see the Secret Wars happening. |

Just got back from seeing it (staff preview whattup)
Pretty good, it had pretty much everything I wanted/expected out of it, and set up a third one nicely. Like Scot said too, it left me wanting more. I wanna see it again I think, i'll probably like it more when I do. I was surprised by him unmasking in the train scene, and I was expecting Mary-Jane to either marry that astronaut guy, or just not bother with Spiderman, but it's a nice refreshing change to see them get together. The action scenes were pretty awesome, and there were some funny parts too (where he tells the kids to eat their greens, and when he can't get a drink from the waiters) Oh and Kirsten Dunst is fucking HOT. |

Kane, Kane, Kane, you are too impatient. I like the slow, deeper development that they seem to be pushing. No need to try and quickly introduce anyone. Venom IMO doesn't need to show up until like the 5th movie. Small trickles of character building in the third, more so in the fourth, like thy've done with Green Goblin, then in the 5th, bam. That's the formula they should use.
The only proble with that, like I said earlier is the degeneration of the Spiderman Series before getting that far. Hopefully it doesn't do a 'Batman' and turn to shit and/or loose it's main characters. |

Assuming they take it that far...
Also, I absolutely hate that, because somewhere down the road you just have to know that the actors are going to change, which sucks. |

I actually would prefer to not see Venom in the movies. He's got so many characters that would fit in better with the way Raimi's done the movies.

Just saw it, finally. This movie kicked so much ass. Definitely the best of the summer and better than the first. And it is what every sequel should be. Keep it up Raimi, you da man.

I forget which but some company has the rights to make Spider-Man 3 and 4 video games based off the movies series. I read it on 1up.com. |

Well I ended up with a day off on Canada Day and saw it during the afternoon. I must remember to stop seeing afternoon films that kids can get into.
Great movie. Amazing action sequences that I just dropped my jaw over. Good character development and the Tobey to CGI transition was almost flawless and it worked. I have to say, in amongst all the action sequences - my favorite scene was still when Spiderman was in the elevator. Those that saw it know what I am referring to... |

Personally, I'd like to see the Scorpion make his way into the next movie. THe most likely result will be a three way fight between Spiderman, Green Goblin, and another enemy thrown in to make the movie feel new.
Enemies I don't want to see: Black Cat, Rhyno, Kraven the Hunter, or the Kingpin (who has already made an appearance in Daredevil.) Enemies I would like to see: Lizard, Hobgoblin, Scorpion, Vulture Angles I'd enjoy: The black suit, Cameo of the Scarlet Spider, or the 4 Identity Crisis personas Spidey took on. (I forget their names off hand. Correct me if I'm wrong: Maverick, Riccochet, Prodegy and Dusk.) |

It was one of the best movies in a long time.
Though I don't like how Peter Parker's identity was revealed like that. |

I would actually like to see Kraven as a minor character in 3 or 4, provided they use him like they did in the Ultimate comic series, where he's a "Croc Hunter"-type TV star who decides that he's going to bag Spider-Man for his next prize. He could even be hired by Harry while the Goblin thing builds to a climactic battle finale.

I thought it was ridiculous, but... why not? Sure, she's not the sweetheart next door; Mary Jane already had that one covered. So maybe Raimi pulled a role reversal? I liked that scene, though. It showed that Peter wasn't a total loser, and that there were possibilities of happy life without Mary Jane. |

On the Venom thing: I know we're all jonesing for it (myself and my brother and sister included), but I don't see it happening.
Someone already mentioned that Venom wouldn't fit Raimi's style. The other thing is that the Spider-Man movies appeal to us modern comics age fans AND the older fans who haven't picked up a comic book in years (like, since the late '60's). Something tells me that they wouldn't like Venom. Scorpion and "Croc Hunter" Kraven would be cool, though. |

Saw it last week. I thought it was ok, but nothing special.
Alfred Molina is the fucking man though. If there is one thing I wanted to see more of, it was Doc Ock. Oh, and can someone please tell me how this Hobgoblin rumour started? It reminds me of the GTA Sin City rumour - Someone somewhere said it, and all of a sudden a bunch of people believe its official, even though no one has confirmed anything. I don't like the idea of 2 of the 3 movies featuring the Green Goblin though. The next step in Harrys story consists of him going completly crazy, so either do that in #3 and have him become the GG in #4, or turn him in #3 but with one or two other super villains for Spidey to fight, like the Lizard or Scorpion. |

Ive now seen it and must say it was brilliant. The way they tied up all loose ends but also left it open for a third. Harry will change into the green goblin but i bet he doesnt play the major villain. It wont be venom as someone said he doesnt fit with the scheme. But i reckon it also wont be hobgoblin because it might confuse some people so id say the lizard, green goblin and vulture.
