All the things I was fun of in school for (videogames, comic heroes) are billion dollar industries and it's uncool to not be a part of it. We win.

I wonder if Civil War's on their mind as far as possible movie-verse stories go. I know the Big 3's sequels will be self contained without too many references to the greater universe, but things will converge again in a few years, they need something big. Civil War should be adapted in some way.

They would need to establish that there are more than 4 superheros in the world first.
Would be a small Civil War otherwise. |

Fox and Sony will never share their cash cows. Sad really, as I'd think even a cameo would benefit all involved. Imagine Nick Fury asking Wolverine to join a special team after the credits of The Wolverine, then Logan ironically says "I don't do teams." Cue Fury's "I got my eye on you" line and boom. Instant hype.

Cameo for cameo would be fair. Have Iron Man pop up in Fantastic Four for 2 minutes... Captain America helping Daredevil out in a gang war.... Spider-Man popping up in the Avengers for a few minutes...

FF and DD are on stasis until Fox reboots them. I'd say for now, have Sony's current Spidey swing by in the background during the final battle in Avengers as an Easter Egg. Nick Fury after The Wolverine, stuff like that.

Random Spidey swing in the background. "Hey guys, looks like you got this. Don't mind me. Just swinging through."

Obviously kicking it to an invader. I thought about him as Peter Parker taking pictures but he would never let all that action go without helping. Not too mention he probably isn't a photographer in the reboot.

Would be surprised if the Avengers franchise was still going in 10 years - or at least, would be surprised if RDJ is still a part of it then. He's not exactly a spring chicken. He would be 57 at that point

I'd say this is the last 'cycle' ending with Avengers 2 before everything's rebooted.

They could probably get away with not even having a Spidey cameo. Fury could maybe just mention it to one of his men; "I want you to look into this guy climbing up walls" or something... something that would obviously hint at Spider-Man, so that even non-comic fans should get the hint.

have watched Iron Man 1 and 2 and had Hulk and Thor on in the background in preparation for this (shall watch Captain America at some point) Chris Hemsworth is kind of awful. was mildly proud of myself for recognizing Captain America's shield in Iron Man 2

Can't wait for this. One question though, was Cap a smartass type character in the comics? I never liked the cast for him, it doesnt seem he''d be that type of person. Plus Evans was already Human torch

Captain America was great. Fuck his FF stint, that's Fox and their silliness. He is Cap.
It may not be Reeves/Superman or Helmsworth/Thor, but he works. |

Legally, could they have like tobey maguire make a cameo, taking a picture of the battle? Because that would be a great little easter egg.

After watching Push and The Losers, I knew he'd do just fine as Cap. Highly underrated actor, who's had a relatively diverse number of roles.

I never though it would be. Thought you were saying it was "too late" in that Tobey isn't Spidey anymore, but Tall Hair Guy is.

Still can't get over Cap's outfit. For an official released pic from the studio, he sure looks like a dork here next to the bad assery of Iron Man. I really hope it doesn't come off that way in the movie.

watched Captain America. Pretttttttty meh for the most part, first half hour or so was decent, last 10-15 minutes were alright, Tommy Lee Jones was good, bird was mint, Chris Evans did well enough. So Iron Man was good, Iron Man 2 and Captain America were alright, Thor and Hulk were pretty gash. Hopefully all of them together plus Samuel L. Jackson shall be fun. I'll probably come back and give you my expert Avengers opinion in about 9 months.
