I just read that Desmond allows an 'unlikely nemesis' to help out a stranger to the Island. I'm guessing the stranger is the new girl they are bringing in from the outside world, the nemesis? Maybe Mikhail survived the fence?

Man, Kate might be an annoying character, but she sure looks good in underwear.

Rosario Dawson drops in? I didn't catch the credits. But talk about your angel from above.
John Locke. Where you at? Yeah, Ben says "See you in a week." See him next week I guess? |

Sawyer mentioned Bernard. I wonder if we'll actually see Rose and Bernard at all this season. Maybe during the season finale.
Anyways, good ep. |

I'm excited for next weeks episode, I wonder who that woman is and what will happen to Sun? I think Sun will kidnapped by the others when they invade so that they can study her.

OK so I was told that if you watch the Pilot episode, you can see the smoke monster fly past the turbine. You can get the clip and it in slow motion on YouTube and it blatantly is!!!!!
In the real footage it looks like it 'could just be' a piece of debris, but even in the slow version, its a figure that doesn't simply fly past from the course of an explosion, it swoops down then up as if it is controlling where it goes. Here is a gif with the colours altered to it can be seen better. Maybe Desmond didn't bring the plane down, maybe it was the monster? |

I don't know that doesn't look like the smoke monster, it just looks like a shadow.

What? A shadow that can not only fly through the air but descend to the ground, pass a turbine and cause it to explode, then ascend back up the the sky. Thats some fucking shadow.
It looks a bit off because the colours have been altered for every cell of the animation so the flying object can be seen better. In the real footage its more darker. The question still remains, if its not the smoke monster, what is it? It doesn't have a random trajectory. It goes down, then up and causes the turbine to explode. Its gotta be the monster. |

Has anyone re-watched the first ep to make sure that's not been messed with, as it wouldn't be too tough to animate that on the scene.
Until someone can confirm it, I'm calling it bullshit |

That shadow looks way too crappy and way too easy to see to be the smoke monster.
Not saying it's not real, but if it is, it's a pretty shoddy effect. |

Interesting!
That episode was pretty good, and i also spotted the old lady in th photo on the Monks desk....interesting, very interesting. Desmond was a monk! It would have been better if he turned out to be a rabid hulkamaniac, hence calling everyone Brother. |

im pretty sure the producers have stated the monster makes no physical appearance in the pilot episode...and it was due to bad special effects |

And yeah, the smoke monster in the pilot has been talked about before we even knew that it was a smoke monster.

See how hard was that?
Again, its not that conclusive. Unless I see it on the Fuselage or something, or the episode that concludes otherwise, its all fanbased theory. I just think the excuse 'an effect gone wrong' is false, since so much money, time and talent goes into the show, they wouldn't include it if they were not happy with it or what it would resonate in the future. Like I said, its a controlled entity, a piece of debris wouldn;t fly/fall like that. |
