I think Tenn and UGA dont really want to make the SEC Title game because if both win out the reason of the season then the one that wouldnt make the SEC Title game would likely get a at-large BCS Bowl Berth like Texas would if they won out.

Kansas will truely show if they are real vs Missou AND Ok if they make the Big 12 Title Game. They have been impressive but had a weak non-conf schedule, a down Big 12 North and no Ok or Texas on the reg season schedule.

OSU football to install artificial turf
Real grass didn't cut it for the Buckeyes this year, so the natural will give way to the artificial for 2007. By Doug Harris Staff Writer Thursday, November 30, 2006 COLUMBUS — After fighting all season to give its football team a suitable playing surface, Ohio State has decided to go with a low-maintenance variety next year. The school will install artificial turf at Ohio Stadium after the 2007 spring game, ending a 17-year stretch with natural grass. "As we've said all along, we want to have the best field possible, and we think this gives us that opportunity," said Steve Snapp, OSU's associate athletic director for communications. "We practice on artificial surfaces, and we've had some good luck with it. And over the years, the surface itself has been improved. We feel good about it." OSU resodded the field for the first time in four years in late September at a cost of $75,000, but foul weather kept the new turf from taking root. It was resurfaced again about one month later for $60,000, but players were still slipping during the season finale against Michigan. Don Patko, OSU's assistant athletic director for facilities management, said his crew battled unseasonably cold weather this year and a record rainfall in October. And while he would have liked for the Buckeyes to remain one of six Big Ten schools with natural-grass stadiums, he was ready to make the change. "I think the reasoning is, we want more use out of the field," he said. "With grass, we're only getting 15 or 20 days of use with a multi-million-dollar stadium. We get calls from coach (Jim Tressel) wanting to come over. ... We want to provide a consistent surface for them during the season to use whenever they want." Patko said the school is still shopping for a synthetic turf, but OSU installed the popular FieldTurf on two practice fields in recent years. And he estimated the cost of outfitting the Horseshoe at $400,000 to $600,000. The school also will have to pay for damage done after the Buckeyes' 42-39 win over Michigan on Nov. 18. Fans stormed the field and ripped out much of the sod for souvenirs, but Patko said his crew has already begun patching the holes. "It'll be ready to go in the spring," he said. Yeah, you know why Ohio State are really changing to artificial turf?? To keep their cheerleaders from grazing on it.. LOL |

Why did you post a story from 2006 and post a lame joke about it, did something happen recently with the cheerleaders or something?

I wasn't angry or anything, I just was curious if there was a reason you posted a year old article...thought something might have happened w/ the cheerleaders or something
BC down by 7, I don't know what happened to their offense. Guess playing real teams will do that to you lol |

Cal has had a worse collapse than BC. They have lost I believe 5 of their last 6 and this is a Cal team that destroyed the SEC East leader Tenn and won at Oregon!

ESPN is projecting West Virginia vs LSU in the National Title game. How you ask? I dont even think ESPN knows how tbh. If Kansas wins out they would have beaten Misszo and OU. If Mizz wins out they would have beaten Kansas and OU. But ESPN>me so GG |

I really would think the title game would be the winner of Mizzou/Kansas...as much emphasis as they place of strength of schedule now, I don't see how WVU would get in ahead of those two.

I think Missouri will handily beat kansas this weekend but lose out to Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship, giving way to WV vs. LSU in the final.

UConn has a shot to beat West Virginia even though I don't think they will. Man remember how crazy everyone thought it was last year that Wake Forest and Boise State were BCS teams? Imagine this year we might have BCS bowls featuring Kansas, Missouri, UConn, and Hawaii.

Too bad Mich. St. blew so many opportunities this year, or we wouldn't be in the unfortunate situation of having to deal with yet another shitty bowl. Projected v. Ok. St. in the Insight Bowl. But, hey, it'd be better than nothing...

I have $50 on Ole Miss to beat Miss State in the Egg Bowl.. Really, I put $50 against Miss State, that they wouldn't have a "winning season", which mean they have to lose this game for me to win..

This Arkansas/LSU game is pretty sick, btw. Headed to a third overtime. 'Course, we all remember the last time LSU played a triple-OT game.

Its amazing in that, now theres scenarios that could play out with Georgia or Virginia Tech playing in the National title game depending on whether WV loses, Arizona St. loses. Kansas or Mizzu wins tonight and loses to OU.
Pretty unreal. Ohio St. might back there way into the title game. |

This might be the most amazing year I can ever remember in college football. There are still at least a half-dozen teams that could win the National Championship.
Kansas, Missouri, OSU, West Virginia, Georgia, Va Tech. Hell, HAWAII is still undefeated. If everybody loses, HAfreakin'WAII could back in. Highly unlikely, but so was two #1 teams losing in November AT HOME. |

I really that will be the case, unfortunately.
Something about Ohio State this year, I've never really been a fan of the team but I did enjoy watching guys like AJ Hawk, Ted Ginn and Troy Smith play, however this year I can't even stand to see them on TV. Really hope they don't make it. |
