I think Roy Nelson would have been a worse fight, style wise.

I do think Ronda is still the bigger household name. I'm expecting the SummerSlam promo at UFC 200 to feature The Rock and Ronda promoted for the event, actually.

Rousey is the only UFC name with the mainstream appeal to be valuable to WWE.

This is 100% a work. Lesnar won't lose and will go on to take the title from Reigns.
He will then move on to Cena and eventually (after 1 or 2 ppvs) lose the belt to Cena. Rinse n Repeat |

Being rumored another reason the WWE had no issue letting Lesnar do a UFC fight was them paying back UFC for being allowed to use Ronda Rousey at Mania 31.

The more I think about this, the more I think the WWE has to lose. I've thought about the damage control the WWE could do and I've heard the justifications for how Brock can lose and still keep dignity. At the end of the day though, it all means that "The Baddest Guy on the Planet" in WWE lost in a real fight.

He'll still get a pop if F5s Shane or goes on a tear, but it'll always be Mark Hunt > Brock Lesnar.

I was just coming here to say the same thing. The more I think about this, the more I feel like this is a horrific idea on WWE's part.
I mean... the mystique he built from ending the streak and squashing Cena for the title has already kinda been squandered for nothing but getting destroyed in a real fight is the best way to snuff it out completely. Not worth it at all. |

I don't think there's anything to lose. Will people really question his acted role if he loses in a real fight? To me it would be like not buying The Rock as a tough guy in any of his films if he lost a fight. I don't link the two at all.
If Brock gets injured, sure, they could lose that. But then he came back to WWE after a few losses, lost to Cena straight away and still looked like a beast. |

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about it as well, but honestly it isn't that difficult to make Brock Lesnar look like a beast again.

Brock returned to WWE after getting his ass kicked two fights in a row. I think it depends on how he loses. If he gets KO'd in 30 seconds or turtles up like his last 2 fights, it won't be good. Easiest damage control is to come back and beat the shit out of Roman Reigns. Everybody cheers Brock and forgets he got knocked the fuck out.

I don't get why people are counting Brock out.
I think Brock will shock the world with a monstrous return and a huge win. In fact I think its a bad idea on WWEs part because what if he decides after beating Hunt that he wants to be back in UFC full time? |

Can you imagine kids at school saying "Whoa! Did you see Brock Lesnar beat Roman Reigns at SummerSlam?" without some other kid saying "Pfft. Brock Lesnar's a pussy. Mark Hunt killed him in 30 seconds." |

I think he's smart enough to use the leverage from the win to segue into more money from Vince. I imagine that if he beats Hunt, he'll be getting a/the World Title. Vince and Brock will be best buds for a while. When it comes time to re-negotiate that contract? That's when things might get shitty. But Brock's honestly probably better off just going out with a win and leaving on that high note and using that mystique to his advantage. If he isn't happy with WWE, I'm sure New Japan would gladly pay him as he works dates.

Yeah, most of Brock's aura comes from him being a legit badass. The Rock analogy doesn't work because The Rock in a movie is completely playing a character. Brock's "character" is pretty much him. His real life credibility is tied directly to his character in WWE. If he gets his ass kicked that kinda hurts the gimmick.

My ideal booking for SummerSlam, prior to all this draft stuff, was Brock beating Reigns at the show anyway. Brock's a big attraction, they have issues yet to be resolved and Brooklyn will be rabid looking for the head of Reigns. Maybe he puts up more of a fight than Cena did at SummerSlam two years ago, but Brock eventually wins the belt. You could still be building up Seth Rollins (I'd have had him beat Triple H at SummerSlam), but you'd also have John Cena back and arguably the best he's ever been as an overall performer. You could have Dean Ambrose with the Money in the Bank briefcase and Reigns looking for redemption. The Royal Rumble would be a very interesting PPV, where my favorite scenario is for Cena to win, challenge Brock at Mania, put his career on the line while The Shield fight in a Triple Threat with the MITB briefcase on the line. Reigns wins that, Cena beats Brock, Joe beats Orton or something, Joe challenges Cena at Payback, Cena barely retains, Reigns cashes in on Joe's damage, wins the title and has issues with basically everybody and is now a top heel. With the draft and the Brock fight, a lot of this gets thrown into chaos. Right now, I'm actually wondering if the best idea is to go with Brock vs. Rusev, regardless of the outcome, because Rusev isn't yet that important to the company, but facing Brock is still somewhat of a promotion for him. He can lose, get something, but ultimately Brock redeems himself or continues building his momentum. I guess Sheamus could fill this role too, but I'm a lot less excited for that match for some reason. It's possible Del Rio could be presented as legit in order to get Brock something back too. Ideally, Brock wins, talks shit about Samoans and then Joe comes out to confront him and Heyman talks Brock into walking off and not wanting a piece of Joe. Run Big Show vs. Samoa Joe at SummerSlam (or something like that), and have Joe win, but Brock attacks him after the match. |

Apparently Mark Hunt is pissed at the USADA recently giving Lesnar an exemption in regards to current MMA rules regarding coming back from a retirement and possible roid useage.
Lesnar is still getting the usual pre-fight test but won't be subjected to extra testing rules in place for former MMA fighters who un-retire nor all the testing rules for fighters in general. http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/7169...-more#/slide/1 |

With respect to Brock, I think he's going to end up sucking Mark Hunt's dick when all is said and done. I give it 3/4's of the 1st round before the ref stops the fight, via TKO victory Hunt.

Brock will use his superior strength and beastly manpower to force Mark Hunt on the ground where he will submit him.
