21 Grams
Finally saw this today.
Crazy ass movie. Might be my favorite of the year. It's right up there with Mystic River. So, so good. Sean Penn is the ****ing MAN. It's basically three main characters and how their lives all intertwine involving a heart transplant, a crash that kills one of the characters' families, etc. It's hard to explain in one sentence, but it is just an amazing movie. Real emotional. Everyone needs to watch it. Also, the scenes are all in random order. Or, rather, the movie goes from start to finish, but with scenes from all around inserted at random places. Like they show the climax of something, then the movie explains how it built up to it. It's an idea that's been done a lot, I know, but it is done very well, and it rules. 10/10 |

Are you saying this movie is like Amores Perros, were there is 3 different stories and it explains how the story goes from start to the end, or is it different.

21 Grams
Just saw it, and I must say that it was a brilliant movie. It was hard hitting and it told it like it is.
Sean Penn and Naomi Watts were at their usual brilliance but I think the standout would have to be Benicio del Toro. If he doesn't win the best supporting actor for the second time then a truely know that the Academy are just a bunch of old cunts who vote for shit movies such as Titanic. :foc: I still can't believe that Sean Penn didn't get a double nomination for his work on this movie, I've seen all the other best actor nominees in action and I have to say that Sean Penn deserves to win the Oscar twice coz he blew me away with both his performances. I just want to know peoples thoughts on this top movie and if you reckon Sean Penn should have got a double nomination for best actor. |

Also Bentio Del Torro was brilliant. Hopefully he'll get the Oscar.
This was a very good movie. I really liked how the director kept jumping between past, present, and future. |

Great movie, I think I liked it as much as Mystic River. It was just very very good, Penn, Watts, and Del Toro were outstandingly great.

Bumping an old thread because I just watched this movie this morning. Holy shit!
This is the best movie I've seen in a long time. I was a little bit disappointed with the explanation of the 21 grams thing at the end. He was talking about how much 21 grams takes, etc. However, he didn't mention what the idea is based on. Some people believe that the soul weighs 21 grams, that is why you lose that exact amount the instant you die. He kind of hinted at it a bit, but I thought it could've been more effective if he had just said it. All 3 of the stars were awesome in this movie, they all should've won awards for it. If any of you still haven't seen this movie yet, WATCH IT NOW!! I'm catching up on movies I missed this whole weekend, tonight I'll be watching Mystic River |

I rented this the other night, never watched it. Rented 21 Grams, Buh Buh Ho Tep, Master and Commander. Watched the last two, but not 21 Grams.

I rented this movie, and wow, that was great.
I forgot that it was all random scenes, and it kind of threw me off in the beginning. It confused my dad so much he didn't finish (he saw the first 15 minutes). I watched through the whole thing, and it is so fucking good. Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro were great. |
