Let's play "would you support that promotion"
So I got into a discussion about the influx of amazing talent from Japan, TNA, Mexico and Europe, coming into WWE and how a lot of guys aren't getting a chance to shine because there are SOO many talented wrestlers on the roster. I wanted to propose a question(s) to everyone here. Let's say you learned about a "new American promotion" that got a TV deal (you get the channel) and is going to start touring America. It has the same old storylines (nothing "groundbreaking") and the production values are moderate to good. The under and mid card are mostly guys unknown to you, but the main event is all "underutilized WWE stars". The main heels for the company would be Ryback, Tyler Breeze, and Fandango. The top babyfaces would be Zach Ryder, Damian Sandow and Dolph Ziggler. The tag team division is focused around the Social Outcast (Slater, Axel, Rose, Bo) and they get sprinkled into the main event from time to time. All of the men are 90-95% the same as they were in WWE, they are just the main focus of the show. Would you watch this hypothetical promotion on tv regularly? Second, if you did watch this promotion regularly, would you go see this promotion if it came to your town?

Yeah, it's actually pretty similar to what I mentioned in the brand extension thread. A promotion full of underutilized main roster guys and guys that are to good to be in NXT but not good enough for a main roster spot yet. Would totally watch it but I watch TNA, ROH, PPW, and NJPW. Would probably watch GFW if it ever got a TV deal. Basically if a promotion has a TV deal I'm going to check them out.

I live out in the country about 40 miles from Lexington KY. I've been to a few house shows in Lexington in Rupp Arena. Had Backlash there in 06 but I didn't go to that. TNA ran some shows at minor league ballpark there that I went to. A lot of wrestling up in Louisville and if NXT comes back I'll probably try to go see it.

Haven't you literally described TNA here?
Their top guys are Drew Galloway, Bobby Lashley, ECIII and the Hardys; all ex-WWE guys, albeit only some of them were under-utilised, and their midcard is s bunch of guys that only hardcore fans have heard of. |

The difference between it and TNA would be the booking. I'd give it a shot, but if it was terrible, I'd probably burn out quicker than I would on a more established product.
