I mean their natural country not where u live now
in boxing for example, Klitschko would be considered ukrainian even tho he lives in germany and speaks German |

He's ethnically hispanic, his family is from Mexico. He was born and raised in the USA. As far as the merchandise, its called marketing. Having a big star that is hispanic can draw in a new fanbase.

Currently active & from countries where MMA is at least somewhat prominent
United States: Jon Jones Canada: GSP Brazil: Anderson Silva UK: Michael Bisping Netherlands: Overeem Poland: Mamed Khalidov Japan: Toss up between Shinya Aoki and Tatsuya Kawajiri South Korea: Chan Sung Jung France & Germany do not really have big streams of MMA fighters but to mention a few names I would go with Kongo, Karl Amoussou, Dennis Siver, etc. |

Are you just trying to name Heavy weights? there is no other way you would put JDS over Silva or Mir near the top in the USA

I should have included Russia, which has a somewhat prominent MMA scene. So I'll say Fedor for Russia since he's still active.

"Old Man Henderson" is still an elite fighter. And Fedor is still the best active fighter from Russia.
