Getting a blank white screen at Vista startup
The other day I came home and my laptop screen was 100% white except for the mouse pointer. Nothing I could do about it at all, control alt delete, alt f4, windows button nothing. So I held down the power button and shut it off. Tried turning it on and I got the same screen after it logged in. Tried it like 5 times and got the same thing. I restarted in safe mode and was able to get on, but can't get on the Internet. I looked online on an ipad for info and people are saying it might be due to antivirus programs, like AVG. I realized AVG 2011 probably installed without my permission so I tried to uninstall it in safe mode but it just wouldn't do it, just said it got some error. I tried to start it up normally again and after hitting a bunch of buttons I actually was able to get on to the normal desktop and when I went to uninstall AVG the computer just froze and I haven't been able to get on since. Also I ran a spyware and malware scans and they didn't do anything.

Ok, the desktop loaded. But I still had the screen for a little. Gonna try to uninstall AVG and see if it freezes

Yeah, sounds like your Operating System need a fresh reinstall. AVG is a great Antivirus, but I've been using a hacked version of Avast! for like 2 years now. It's quite good.
