time for me to buy a new laptop

i'm aiming for sub-£400, because i am pretty poor.

basically i am only going to be using it for internet and recording music (which is surprisingly hard going on this 2gb ram one) so i wanna get one avec 4gb of ram.

thing is, all i know is more ram generally keeps things running a bit smoother and faster. i know shit all about processors etc. graphics card isn't a big deal since i'm not really using it for games. hard drive isn't a huge deal either since i have a 1TB external, although a larger one would be nice if it makes no difference.

i've been looking there and i'm thinking either the acer or the asus. my current one is an acer and i've never had any problems with the computer itself in the four years i've had it, just the hinge has completely gone to shit now. i've never really heard of asus so i don't know how reliable they are.

plz help

The Asus has a slightly better processor but the Acer has a bigger hard drive. Other than that, they're pretty much identical.

Probs go for the Acer because the processor difference is ridiculously slight.

The rest are shit. The MCI looked amazing bar the processor. 1.4ghz single core in this day and age my arse.
