Blu Ray Drivers

ok guys i have had my computer forever . It has a LG blu ray cdrom in it . never used it so i finnally decide to start buying bluray disks . Got my first one last night put it in powerDVD cant read it . Im assuming its a drivers thing . But i have no idea of where to even begin . Where do i look for a product or serial number . Will i have to open the case . Its an alienware system and they have nothing listed under My Hive Computer details

Blu-ray in PC's is shit for this. Constant updates to keep the DRM fucking secure.

Check PowerDVD for updates and use the LG firmware updater which should have come with the software with your PC.

can i get that firmware updater thing from somewhere online . didnt come with my system . Also everytime i put in the disk a message from powerdvd pops up asking to update . i run the update but its always the same thing

Right, I had the same issue with PowerDVD and an LG Blu-Ray drive. Just re-download PowerDVD, don't install from the disc.

i never installed from the disk . always from the myhive section of alienware . which houses all the downloads for my comp.
