Computer slow and disconnecting.
Im having issues with my computer disconnecting from different chat servers. also the names in the room are all jumbled togther. I have had tech support look at it but they want upwards of 300.00 bucks to fix it. he says its not a virus but a software issue of some kind. anyone that can help me with this?

maybe you shouldn't be trying to score 'young chicks' in chat rooms

$300??! Holy Shit
Is this something you're paying a monthly fee for? If so, they shouldn't be asking for that to fix an issue that's probably on their end to start with. If the software can be downloaded, I say redownload and reinstall. What's he program? I'll bet there's a free torrent out there...not that I condone piracy, mind you...not that I haven't downloaded 60 movies legally or anything, but this isn't about me. |

Have you tried running your computer in Safe Mode and running Malwarebytes on it? I think there's a free version of it that you can download from another computer and put your computer in Safe Mode and install it in and scan your PC and get rid of the virus that way.

I have malewarebytes on my system already and ran it but not in safe mode would that matter? purgatory its not software on my system that is the issue. thats just what they told me it was. the problem is mainly with two chat sites one i log into and it freezes in the first 5 mins. the second i log into and all the screen names are jumbled and when i try and click one or two names to go into a private conversation with it logs me out. What is weird is the second chat i mentioned that site has numerous chats all the other ones work fine. its just that particular chat that the names are jumbled and it randomly logs me out.

To be honest, I haven't messed with anything chat room wise for ages, so I'm out of the game.
Malwarebytes is like my solution to anything that tries to take control of my PC. Are these chat sites are client based? Or from the browser? |

And also, it does make a difference running in Safe Mode with Malwarebytes.
If you ran a successful scan though regularly, I doubt your problem is with a virus. I run it in Safe Mode for the scan, because viruses I had to kill off would take control of all my programs and what not. |

Dunno if you've resolved your problem, but I would also suggest maybe another browser. Try with chrome, Firefox, maybe Opera. If it's a browser based program, then it might be the browser.
Firefox started acting weird with a music program I had. Did it for a week or so, then the problem disappeared as randomly as it appeared. |
