I liked the episode, but something bugged me. Did they completely ignore the episode in season 2 when Pam finds the Threat Level Midnight script? Because the timelime seemed pretty messed up as to when Michael wrote/shot it.

Steve Carell finishes filming on 'The Office' today
Six years ago, Steve Carell was still best known for his stint on The Daily Show, plus the occasional bit part in a big Hollywood movie, where he would inevitably steal scenes out from under bigger comedy superstars like Jim Carrey and Will Ferrell. Today, Carell is one of those big comedy superstars — the sort of multi-talented performer who can play a genial everyguy (Date Night) or a slightly off-kilter loon (Get Smart, The 40-Year-Old Virgin), with the occasional furlough into animated work (Despicable Me, Horton Hears a Who!.) Incredibly, Carell has become a movie star without ever ditching his day job on The Office, which makes him a genuine rarity in the Hollywood pantheon. (Even the tragically-handsome George Clooney didn’t have a big, non-Batman hit until he left ER.) Office co-star Rainn Wilson just tweeted that today is Steve Carell’s final day of filming on the sitcom. We shouldn’t say goodbye to Carell just yet. There are still a few more episodes with Michael Scott, and the actor’s post-Office schedule is packed with intriguing movie projects. But let’s all take a moment to consider the end of an era. And let’s thank Carell for all the funny/awkward/sad Office memories — TV won’t be the same without him. |

Rumor has it Will Arnett might be coming in as Carell's replacement.
That's..........actually a very good thing. |

Arnett and Ricky Gervais are both going to be in the finale. I doubt either of them will end up Michael's replacement. They'll probably be interviewees.

If it's anything like his stint on Eastbound & Down, then this could be all kinds of awesome.

This episode may have been one of the least funny Offices of all time. What a waste of a Will Ferrell appearance.

Doesn't feel like they really know where to go with the character. Went from sort of a gentle buffoon at the beginning to kinda Charles Miner-esque, then sorta settled into a combo of the 2 I guess.
Liked the ep though. "One of my favorite things is fanfare for its own sake. So, without further ado, let's all start clapping!" |

the episode sucked. and ppl are saying to give him a chance he will get better
what is the point of giving him a chance and letting him build up when 25% of his role is already over... just a waste of 4 episodes imo. the only good parts of the episodes were pre-opening and during the credits. |

It's going to be one of those things where people in the office end up not liking him so they find a new permanent replacement. Dunno.. I 'get' the episode I guess. Like, he starts off being funny, and then people are kinda like 'huh wait' cause he is kind of a dick.

I think he's similar to Michael in that wacky way but he's not oblivious like Michael is. I think he knows what everyone is trying to do for example he just came right out and confronted Jim and Pam but with Andy he made him eat soap.

Yeah DeAngelo definitely came off as a sharper Michael. I didnt really care for the episode other than the opening, the sandwich scene, and the hug. I see what theyre doing though.
The preview for the Dundees this week made me sad. |

I dunno, I like that they had him playing the straight man for once. I thought for sure he would just be playing Will Ferrell, but it seems like they are trying to develop a real character

Was sure that the super run down house they went up to in the open would be Creed's.

I knew it was going to be who it ended up being (just incase of spoilers.) They wouldn't want to spoil the mystery of Creed Bratton.
