I sense a power struggle going on. Seems to me like the owners want Bobby Valentine, but the GM feels otherwise. |

I think its the other way around but it is possible another "power struggle" or something involving Larry Lucchino (VP of the team and minority owner I think) is causing the delays again.

Either way it's embarrassing that the Red Sox have gone 2 months without hiring a manager, and the Cubs and Cardinals were both able to hire theirs in about 2 weeks time. I don't know what's going on, but they need to get their shit together because free agents aren't going to want to come to Boston without a manager. We should be talking about the Red Sox talking to guys like Mark Buehrle, but instead they're in the same place they were in at the end of last month.

Broxton to the Royals. I really like the team KC is putting together.

The Giants extend manager Bruce Bochy and GM Brian Sabean to 2013 with team options for 2014.

Evening Round-Up:
A couple reports buzzing around the net right now about the Red Sox manager search. Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe says Gene Lamont has not been told he's out of the running for the spot yet. Karl Ravech over at ESPN says Lamont is out, but the position has not been offered to Bobby V as of right now. The Dodgers and Adam Kennedy are close to a deal. The Mets, Reds, Cardinals, and Tigers are major players in the Octavio Dotel sweepstakes. |

Bobby Valentine has agreed to be the new Boston Red Sox manager.
Things are about to get interesting in Boston, as well as the AL East. |

Apparently the Cubbies want Pujos and Feilder. If that happens, I'll ejac in my own face.

I see no way Pujols leaves the Cardinals, and joins the CUBS, of all teams, which would make him public enemy #1 in St. Louis.
I do believe Prince will sign with the Cubs. |

Hmm, so Pujols won't sign with the Cubs because he cares too much about the fans in St. Louis, but apparently Prince Fielder has no problem telling the city of Milwaukee to go fuck itself.

Still cannot for the life of me understand why Red Sox fans are pissed off about the Valentine hire. He's been characterized by them as an idiot and a terrible manager, which makes no sense. He wasn't a very good analyst, but he's a damn good manager with a track record of success. He's shown that he can cut down on some of the clubhouse bullshit while still being well-liked by his players. Smart move by the Sox.

If Pujols didn't want Cardinals fans to hate him then he would have re-signed with them already.

La Russa retiring probably made Pujols reconsider a bit but at the same time everyone knew he was going to ask for an A-Rod like mega-contract.
I can see how Red Sox fans are upset over the Valentine hire because of it taking 2 months and him not even being an option until Theo left and started to go after all the potential managers the Red Sox wanted. At the same time Valentine does have a better track record with success than Francona had before he became the manager. Detroit fans were begging the Red Sox ownership to take Lamont from them because of how bad he was for the team and hurt a potential playoff spot rival for the next season. Loosing Sveum was because management was too slow in negotiations which is why the Cubs swooped in to get him while they suddenly dropped interest for one of the coaches from the Rangers staff. |

You are seriously retarded. Pujols would become an enemy in St. Louis just like Damon became an enemy in Boston. I'd say that's pretty similar. |

Money TALKS. If the Cubs offer him a ten year deal and give him a multimillion dollar contract he would go to the Cubs. Baseball players want to go to the team that can make them the most money and the best chance to win a World Series ring. I wouldn't say that there's no chance . Pujols might just go to Miami though. I can see Pujols or Fielder in a Marlins uniform come the 2012 season.

Well not saying you're wrong. But, if I were him I would want as many rings as I could have before he retires in the next 10 or something years. Not saying that the Cards can't go back to the World Series and win. All I am trying to say is when you're a baseball player I don't think it's all about the money it's about the rings too. And if I were Pujold and I was turning 31 years old. I'd be asking myself where I could get the most money and what team would be most likely to get me that third ring.

Evening Round-up:
Rockies sign Ramon Hernandez to a 2-year, $6.5 mil. deal. The Rockies also traded Chris Iannetta to the Angels for Tyler Chatwood. The Rangers continute to load up their bullpen. They're targeting A's closer Andrew Bailey. But so are the Red Sox and a few other teams. Cubs sign David DeJesus to a 2-year, $10 mil. deal. Tigers sign Ramon Santiago to a 2-year, $4 mil. deal. |
