This Won't Happen at Fastlane, But...
(I know I could have posted this in the WM prediction thread, but ehhhhh...)
If the following happened, would you find it resulting in a more compelling card for WrestleMania, or is it too needlessly complicated? --- At the end of the Fastlane main event, Lesnar has Ambrose up for the f-5. Reigns comes in and tries to go for a Superman Punch on Lesnar to help Ambrose, but Ambrose manages to wiggle out of it and land behind Lesnar. At the same time, Reigns jumps for the move, but Lesnar ducks last second, and Reigns ends up Superman Punching Ambrose. Reigns turns around and ducks a clothesline from Lesnar, bounces off the ropes, and goes for a Reigns goes for the Spear on Lesnar. However, Brock sidesteps, and Reigns ends up spearing Ambrose, who never completely fell down following the Superman Punch. Reigns looks shocked, and Brock takes advantage by delivering an F-5 to Reigns, who rolls out of the ring (or he can even F-5 Roman over the top rope and onto the floor outside for a cool spot). Lesnar then takes Ambrose and delivers an F-5 and pins him. Lesnar celebrates and is going to WrestleMania, but before the show ends, the lights got out, and the Wyatt family surround Lesnar. Ensue post-match beatdown that succeeds in taking Lesnar out. On the ensuing Raw, Lesnar comes to the ring incensed. He will face HHH at WM, but he also wants his hands on Bray Wyatt. He proceeds to decimate the roster (either throughout the night, Stone Cold style or just interrupts a multi-person match and kills everyone, then a few more people who try to get him to stop), until HHH acquiesces to a triple threat: HHH vs Brock vs Bray. The triple threat for the title adds a wild card element in Bray and offers the chance for him to get over. Bray might even win and engage in a program with Lesnar after WrestleMania one on one. Meanwhile, Roman shows remorse for his accidental finishers on "his brother" but reaffirms that he was going all out to get to WM. Tease tension between Reigns and Ambrose for a couple of weeks before Roman turns heel and attacks Ambrose in earnest. The reason could be as simple as jealousy over crowd reaction and Ambrose being more popular than Reigns. Sign a match for WrestleMania that continues into a program that Rollins might even get involved in eventually when he comes back. --- Now, I know all of that is overly complicated compared to the storylines currently in place, but would that pique your interest more than what they're doing now, even though they're shoehorning Reigns vs HHH with a predictable ending, ditto w/ Bray vs Lesnar? And everyone knows the Wyatts will cost Lesnar the Fastlane match right now. So I don't think anyone's really caring about the show. Thoughts? Improvements? |

I like the finishing sequence there, but I do feel that there's still just a bit of work to be done before Bray Wyatt is in the Wrestlemania main event for the title.

I'd like Dean Fucking Ambrose to get his shot at the title at WrestleMania. He gets the most reactions from everybody even when he was doing jack shit.

I like it and haven't seen it suggested before. Nice job.
My gut is telling me that they're going to just go through with Roman Reigns challenging Triple H and beat people over the head with it. Now that he's officially retired, I can see them trying to get the babyface love for Bryan onto Reigns by having Bryan "endorse" and perhaps even "train" him for the match. They clearly want Reigns to be the long-term babyface for the champion, and I think they're just too stubborn to abort it. Dean Ambrose would be the most immediately over option. Watching clips from RAW this week, Ambrose didn't look out of place interacting with Brock Lesnar. I can see them abandoning the Brock vs. Bray plans and have Bray vs. Taker, Ambrose vs. Lesnar and Triple H vs. Reigns. A third option is that they have Ambrose win the match at Fastlane (where he will be the fan favorite) and go on to face Triple H. Reigns can then face Taker and Bray can face Brock. I think your top matches are a configuration of Triple H, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt -- and you can basically fit them together however you like. |

Triple H vs. Ambrose only happens if they have given up on Roman Reigns as a babyface, in which case I think Roman vs. Taker in Texas is probably the best bet. This leaves Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar, which I am not thrilled about, but Bray laughing as he gets the shit kicked out of him should be fun.

Yeah, shoehorning Bray into a Lesnar vs HHH title match is a stretch given how unthreatening he's been when it matters.
Hell, if anything, you'd think Bray would remember his "anyone but you" (they even called that back a few weeks ago before the Rumble) and screw Reigns over, not the inevitable Lesnar screwjob that will actually happen. And I do agree that Ambrose vs HHH would gain a far more sympathetic reaction than Reigns vs HHH. Heck, if anything, they should make Reigns the next Austin instead of the next Cena, since his snapping and attacking everyone at the end of TLC was the most over he's been this entire time. |

Reigns should win the match, but do it in a way that steals the pin from Ambrose.
I was thinking the booking of the match should be Ambrose and Reigns team up to injure Lesnar right at the start of the match. They take Brock out, then the body of the match is just Ambrose vs Reigns. Lesnar comes back at the end, suplex city ensues. Wyatt Family graphic. Wyatts lay out Lesnar. Ambrose comes to and tries to pin Lesnar, Reigns is out of the ring, but pulls the ref out and Spears Ambrose to get the win. Reigns vs Trips Wyatt vs Lesnar Ambrose vs Owens |
