Maybe Jon Rauch can catch since he can't pitch.

Kinda excited about the Jays season, although if they aren't gonna bother to try and contend at the very latest 2013 they might as well deal Jose Bautista

Happy to see Big Papi accept arbitration and return to Boston. Can't envision him or Pujols playing in any other uniform.

Guys I'm worried about Vito. I don't think he can handle the Phillies and this potential new Marlins team in the same division as the Mets.

Despite the fact that I really like the moves made yesterday, 2012 still figures to be a long year especially with these two juggernauts in the division. They're obviously going to need some of the 2011 Arizona Diamondbacks mojo if they want to be relevant. I'll always watch the games on TV of course, but I do think 2012 may be the first time since like '97 that I don't go to a Mets home game. Going to a game is hardly inexpensive, and I just don't feel comfortable giving the Wilpons a dime of my money. Many others feel the same, and I think Citi Field will be a ghost town for much of next season unless something shocking develops. |

In other news, the Marlins are still keeping the Pujols offer on the table on the offchance he accepts, and if not - they will go to Fielder. Along with that, they have offered CJ Wilson 6 years, $90 million...I have my doubts that anybody will top that.
This offseason could wind up blowing every other offseason out of the water from a money standpoint. This could also blow up in their face if the fans still don't care about baseball. |

If I'm Fielder I'm not giving anybody the time of day if they're waiting for Pujols to sign before making me an offer. Fuck that.

I think I'd feel more comfortable giving Fielder a long term deal anyway.

I doubt Fielder is going to sign before Pujols because Pujols value could rise the longer the Pujols sweepstakes lasts which could benefit Fielder in asking for a higher contract.
If he signs too early and Pujols ends up managing to get an extra $20-$50 million tacked onto his contract, that would be extra money lost Fielder could have tried to squeeze out once Pujols sets the max amount. |

Can't believe people are even insinuating that the Orioles are the 2nd mystery team in for Pujols behind the Cardinals and Angels.
A) Angelos isn't gonna spend $200 million/10 years on anyone. B) Pujols wouldn't come to Baltimore for $1 billion a year. C) Even though it clears up a hole, it means they probably won't get around to fixing the pitching staff, like..ever. D) Id rather if they were going to spend $200 million, it would be on Fielder anyway |

Read a rumor that the Cubs could land Prince for Ryan Howard type money (5 years/ $125 mil). Sounds like a bargain for Prince. But I'd rather have Pujols.

No way Prince signs for Howard money. Pujols is only gonna wind up making ~$22mm a year and teams won't sign Prince for more than they would have paid for Pujols. It's a shame that Pujols won't be the highest paid first baseman, but he got more long-term security at a younger age than Howard, Teixiera, A-Gon.
I think a couple of years ago, Prince offered the Brewers the chance to sign him to a 9 year $178mm extension but they refused. That would have been a bargain now. |

Fielder could definitely get $25M/year if he takes a shorter deal like suggested.
The reason Pujols isn't making 25M or more a year is because he wants 9 or 10 years. |

You forget who Prince Fielders agent is? Scott Boras! Boras is gonna make sure Prince gets as much money as he can out of this . I think it's gonna be a 9 year contract.

If Fielder gets a long-term deal I think he's more likely to go to the AL.

Absolute bedlam on the Cardinals message board. Jersey burnings. People calling for Pujols to not get a statue or his number retired. Insanity.

"He waited just long enough for the Cardinals to miss opportunities with all the guys they wanted as back up plans. Hes no true Cardinal as of today. Also cause he's going to LA when he retires he'll go in the Hall as an Angel.
I understand Pujols being upset at the Cardinals, but when do the players ever consider the fans. The organization messes up, and the fans never do him wrong and support him more then anyone, and we filled the stands to get him the first 100+ million he got, and he didn't flinch once the Angels gave him 250 over the Cards 220. What a true fake. And now he's not a Cardinal, what a true PED greed jaw jacked MANG. PLEASE PLEASE NO STATUE WHEN HE RETIRES. THAT FROM ONE TRUE CARDINALS FAN." |

Okay here's the big question: Who is gonna get traded now? I have a feeling either Trumbo or Morales are gone. Who do you think it is? I'd have to say Trumbo package for.........maybe a pitcher probably.

Yeah, just type in "Cardinals Message Board" on google and you'll see the hate. I'd post links but I have to browse TPWW on my phone at work and there's no easy way to post links on here. Stupid work filters.
Pujols in another jersey is gonna look fucking weird. |
