Well i think all Laker fans will sleep better tonight. Game 7 it is, and if the Lakers play like they did today, they will win.
Great defense, smart offense Though the C's were missing some pretty easy shots. |

"Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins will not play during Game 7 of the Lakers-Celtics championship series after suffering torn MCL and PCL ligaments in his right knee Tuesday. "

It's a torn MCL and torn PCL again, It's a torn MCL and torn PCL, so no he wouldn't. Will be interesting to see how Scalabrine earns his 3+million a year he gets for sitting on the bench tomorrow night! |

Seriously though Kobe would play even if he had a prosthetic leg.
Then when Ron Artest does something stupid like dribbles around and lunches a ridiclous 3 that misses everything Kobe would get mad and take his fake leg and Hit Ron Artest over the head with it. |

you'd be amazed how many people don'tget the injury... "why can't he still play"...
I think Artest may be the most talented player in the NBA, but one of the dumbest... I just don't get it, he's a great defender and a good shooter/passer but he makes horrible decisions, bad passes and horrible shots... |

I think the Celts will get dominated on the glass again with big Perkins not there to take up space, and clog up that lane.

can't disagree... although davis does pretty well he's a big body but not as tall, if the refs call over the back he'll be able to work the boards if they let that go then he's screwed.

I cant pick against Kobe. I just cant. He's too good. This is his moment and there's maybe like 3 players in the NBA that can seize this moment and Kobe is the #1 of the group. And look, you're fucking stupid if you underestimate Perkins impact on the game. He's a fantastic defensive player. He keeps the whole frontline of LA honest. Lord knows Garnetts old knees doesnt. That will be huge.
I think LA wins 104-98 |

If Kobe goes into "I'm gonna be MJ tonight" and tries to take over the game, everyone else will ease up on the Lakers.
Celtics need Jesus Shuttlesworth to have more of a Game 2 night than Game 3 night. |

pretty confident that Celtics can't win this without Perkins. Gasol, Odom and Bynum are going to be able to get inside a lot more and get Kobe more space or vice versa. The bigs are going to win this for the Lakers tonight

I really think they can win 1 game without Kendrick Perkins. It's a bigger issue if this injury happens in game 2, and even more of a big issue if Andrew Bynum isn't injured.
Now mind you I don't think they would win even with Kendrick Perkins. I just hope it's not a terrible game. |

Also Samuel Dalembert was apparently traded to the Kings for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes.

1) Rasheed has the game of his life, he doesn't have to worry about getting 1 tech tonight (him and perk were both at the limit) what will they do? suspend him for game 1 next year? 2) The old Gasol needs to show up, the soft player that doesn't crash the board an takes alligator arm shots... this is not the Gasol that has played most of this year or this playoffs but every so often you see a little bit of him... 3) Kobe needs to take control, let Kobe go off for 60... 2 things happen when that happens, first everyone else backs off and slows down on the Lakers and it becomes a 1 on 5 for Kobe. Second is Artest will try to get in the act and start missing 3's. an the Celtics win? yes... and I don't just mean that in a "any team could win" situation, I think they have a real shot... but no, I wouldn't bet my money on them... I think there are plenty of Lakers from 2008 who remember being down 40 points game 6 in Boston... |

Yeah, and you should remember that was a different Lakers team, without Bynum, against a younger Celtics teams, which Kevin Garnet could still guard his own man.
