On the pre show hopefully. That would be a horrible match.

I don't think it would. Wouldn't be any worse than Taker/Shane in my opinion.

It'd definately be better than Taker vs. Kane or Big Show. Can't believe anyone is suggesting that in 2016.

Taker for President! Every time he ends a speech, he rolls his eyes back. Then the graveyard symphony plays.
Ok i'd settle for GM position.. |

Unless something goes wrong with current recovery Taker will still be wrestling. But I suspect the seeds will be planted that his run is coming to an end.

The seeds that his run was coming to an end were planted in 2011.

My gut tells me that even if Taker decided he was done at Mania this year, he'd still do one last match for the company putting over someone knowing it was his last. He got to work with Luke Harper at Survivor Series, but if he enjoyed that, I could see it being Taker vs. Harper one-on-one. Honestly though, my personal preference right now would be Rusev.
There are very few guys who reach the sublime with their subtlety like Rusev. He's got the size and skill needed to be a believable in-ring match for Taker, and his gimmick -- although I would give it a few contemporary tweaks -- makes for a believably hungry challenger for Taker. It also puts Lana back in the spotlight, and hopefully the heat on her has gone wayside, because she's got the charisma there to be a leading lady for them. There's a Macho Man/Sherri type of dynamic there, although it could be Macho Man/Liz if they turned the two. |

While I think Rusev would be a good choice to put more momentum behind, I don't think he's the right guy to end Taker's WWE career.
You have to think of things like you're creating a video of The Undetaker's career in WWE. To end it on a guy like Luke Harper or Rusev just doesn't seem epic enough. I look at this career ending thing as something special. Flair's WWE career was ended by HBK and HBK's by Taker. Neither HBK or Taker needed those wins, but from a legacy standpoint you had these ICONs ending their runs. So with that in mind, the only guys who could do it would be Rock, Austin, Cena or HHH. The good thing about one of those four guys is you can keep having big matches where they retire each other. Austin likely never wrestles, so maybe he's out. But the other three would work. Cena is probably the right guy. Forgot about Lesnar, he would work too. But probably the wing choice since they have had enough battles. |

Couldve built up Wyatt and ended it with him. You can still do it but it'll be a lot harder to pull off

I agree that at this point, an icon is the only type of wrestler that could believably end Taker's career, but a few years ago, I could have bought Wyatt as the guy, if his momentum had kept building.
Going into Wrestlemania 30, Wyatt was the strongest heel in the company outside of Brock, and the gap wasn't that wide. If he would have won the feud against Cena and been protected throughout the following year, that match would have felt iconic. It would have had the same magic that Jericho vs Micheals had. But it's all hindsight. TAker lost to Brock, and wyatt was booked to lose so much that he lost that intimidating aura, and their match really didn't have any real hype at all going in. |

This isnt some random guy ending his career. This is a guy who will go down as a top 10 guy in WWE history. Say you use Wyatt to go over him in his last match. Are you convinced Wyatt will have a career that when you look back you go yeah his career was on Taker's level.
Who did Flair and HBK pass the torch to? Hell, Andre did the favours for Hogan when Hogan was already well established as the man. Austin had his to this point last match against The Rock, who was also well established at that point. You need a moment. Wyatt going over Taker is not a moment on the level of Taker beating HBK or HBK beating Flair. |
