The last time the Os held the yankees to 2 runs or less in each game of a 3 game series was 1978.

Red Sox still pretty bad at home overall.
Same record as last year but with the difference being Bobby V at one point was better by about 2-3 wins. |

If the playoffs started today:
AL EAST Sends 3 teams to the Playoffs, neither of which named the Red Sox or Yankees. MLB would be fucking pissed off if that happened for real. |

Hawk Harrelson has said he will never retire, and that he will keep going til he's dead. With each clip I see of him, I hope that day draws closer. Gotta be the most annoying announcer in sports.

He's MLB's Jim Ross. Only thing is that he's so biased, that unless you're a White Sox fan, he comes off as annoying.

Have the White Sox ever had a uniform where they actually wear white socks?

I think so. They used to wear shorts at one point, I'd guess the socks were white.

In 1976 the team's uniforms changed again. The team's primary color changed back from red to navy. The team based their uniforms on a style worn in the early days of the franchise, with white jerseys worn at home, blue on the road. The team brought back white socks for the last time in team history. The socks featured a different stripe pattern every year. The team also had the option to wear blue or white pants with either jersey. Additionally the teams "SOX" logo was changed to a modern-looking "SOX" in a bold font, with 'CHICAGO' written across the jersey. Finally, the team's logo featured a silhouette of a batter over the words "SOX".

Mariano Rivera carted off the field before the game. Injured his knee shagging fly balls in the outfield. Didn't look good.

Rivera has a torn ACL. God damn. That sucks. Even the biggest Yankee hater has to admit that the greatest closer in history deserved a better ending than this. Makes me hope he makes a comeback, but that'd be shocking.

It's not the way he deserves to go out. But I have a feeling he'll interpret it as "a sign" from God that it's time for him to retire and dedicate his life to other things, life preaching or something. But it's definitely not the way I'd like to see him go out.

Wow, what horrible news. Seriously hope he makes a comeback for next year and goes out on his own terms but I doubt he would want to do it. He was already hinting that this was his last year.
Doesn't get much worse as a Yankee fan than to see that. |

im starting to think he's holding one of the Ricketts hostage. But atleast Svuem sounded like enough is enough in the post game. I think Dolis might be a great closer. I also think this team isnt as bad as everyone thinks. They are above .500 if Marmol didnt exsist this season. The rotatiom with the exception of Volstad,.has been fantastic.

Still can't believe it, such a freak injury. I mean, shagging fly balls in BP, he tears his ACL.

The pitching matchups this weekend look good for the Os
May 4: Jon Lester (4.65 ERA, 23/14 K/BB) vs Wei-Yin Chen (2.22 ERA, 19/8 K/BB) May 5: Aaron Cook (First start of 2012) vs Jason Hammel (1.97 ERA, 30/10 K/BB) May 6: Clay Buchholz (8.69 ERA, 16/15 K/BB) vs Tommy Hunter (4.26 ERA, 18/11 K/BB) If the Os dont win at least 2/3 I'll be disappointed. Lester is the problem though..they've never beaten him. |

Way to go, Yankees. You gave the Royals their first home win of the season.
Top it off with Mo, could it get any worse? |
