I hate the Phillies and everything, but man Charlie Manuel got hosed here:
http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?co...56561&c_id=mlb Bob Davidson is almost as bad as Joe West - total attention whore. He fucks up, ejects the manager for calling him out on it, and then just laughs in Manuel's face while he argues. What a douche. |

Os went 9-6 in a 15 game stretch vs the Yankees (2-1 & 1-1 = 3-2) Red Sox (3-0) Rangers (1-3) and Rays (2-1)
Wish they hadn't sucked so hard vs the Rangers, but it was nice to actually win and split two series with the Yankees. 3-5 vs the Yankees 10-2 vs the Red Sox, Rays and Blue Jays |

DJ Carrasco was meant to eat 3 innings last night only to save the Mets' taxed pen. Instead he gets his dumb ass ejected in the 7th for hitting Braun right after a HR. Got thrown out despite no previous warnings. If it were anybody other than Braun that got hit, or anything other than a first pitch, he probably would have been allowed to stay in. Idiot.
Love me some David Wright though. Collins removed him in the game to avoid him getting retaliated against. Wright was pissed off and said he wanted to go out and take one for the team so that it could be over with. |

Brett Lawrie is so getting suspended. Even if the ump made a horrible call.

Bill Miller is an asshole..... the fact that Lawrie will get all the heat is ridiculous.....both of those calls were bad and the theatrics on the Strike 3 call were unnecessary..... last night proved that I could never be a pro athlete (barring the lack of talent)..... I would have murdered Bill Miller last night.....

Angels fire their hitting coach Mickey Hatcher due to their slow start.
Who do you blame, him or Albert Pujols? Brett Lawrie got himself a 4 game suspension for his incident with Bill Miller last night. |

Both since Pujols spoke out against him a few times but at the same time the team itself is having a historic low in terms of scoring and hitting according to ESPN.

Why would Collins only bring in Parnell for one batter? Ugh.

Interleague play begins Friday. It seems like every season it starts earlier (or it may just be me).

MLB approves new changes to the playoffs this year to a 2-3 format where the Wild Card gets "home field" for the first 2 games and then the higher seed gets the last 3 games instead of the previous 2-2-1 format.

seems silly that people are blaming Bill Miller for this
yeah they were bad calls, but that doesn't justify some 22 year old spastic throwing a temper tantrum |

The second one could've gone either way but the first one was quite clearly a ball. I could see the frustration from Lawrie, but come the fuck on guy.

Doubront pitched well today and for a guy who only had 3 starts in the major the previous 2 years, he's been a huge surprise with how good he's been consistently overall.
Splitting the Tampa series was huge since the Red Sox need momentum going into the Philly series this weekend. |

Yeah Lawrie was definitely in the wrong there. Bad calls happen. Can't flip out about it.
That being said, Miller definitely screwed him. He could have righted it by calling the 2nd pitch a ball...but it seems like an unwritten rule that the ump will always call a strike for anything remotely close after the guy started walking to 1st on the previous pitch. Some bullshit about the ump feeling like he'd been shown up. Angel Hernandez is still the worst. |

Yeah, whenever umpires feel the hitter is "showing them up", they'll do the same. While Lawrie was wrong to do what he did, umpires sometimes go too far and kinda insert themselves into the game too much.
