Swish is getting aquainted with the bench tonight, too.
Gardy's in left and leading off. |

Gardner should have ben starting and hitting leadoff the entire postseason. Unless,he wasn't healthy, he shouldve been in there. Jeter could have hit third and lengthened the lineup out a bit since he was actually doing okay before his ankle have way.
And I'm sorry, but Arod isn't a great player like Jeter and Rivera? Arod is a greater player than both of them. Hes one of the greatest players on the history of the game, and had he not been inured the last 5 years, missing at least 20 games per, youre looking at over 3k hits, arguably over 700 homeruns, and still pretty productive in his mid 30s. Add to that he would have been the greatest shortstop in history had he not moved over, and it creates even more separation from the rest of the pack.Arod is on a completely different level of greatness than Jeter and Rivera. |

Should have put money on a perfect game tonight for Verlander.

Even ESPN had a blog about it trying to disprove him as a playoff choker and could only do it by "cheating" to get his numbers to match Jeter's playoff numbers. Compared A-Rod's shorter playoff career vs Jeter's longer one and only looked at it according to pure stats and ignored actual impact. |

I know I'm asking for much, and I'm one of the many holding on to that thread of hope, but Yankees, just get a hit tonight just to deny Verlander the no-hitter and I'll be happy.

My issue with postseason stats is than, in any given year, you can only play a max if 19 games. That upgraded to 20 with the new wild card format. I don't find three weeks of games to be a fair enough sample to make judgments.
Not to mention, Arods career slash line in the postbseason is 265/372/467 with 13 hr in 74 games. That would piece him for 30+ in any given year. Overall his numbers are good |

You have to know going into a contact like Arod's, who was getting near the final chapter if his career, that youre not going to be getting $25-$30 mil worth if production. If they honestly thought that, the front office is filled with idiots, who lack an understanding of age and skill deterioration. Arod got that contact because hes a draw as a HOF caliber player who is nearing some pretty astounding milestone numbers that few have. That screams merchandise and ticket sales.
No other team was going to pay Arod what the Yankees did either. If they thought there was any shot of losing him to a higher bidder, they are morons. No team in any league was giving Arod more than what the Rangers initially signed him to. Not one. That contact falls on the lap of Yankees management outbidding themselves, not Arod for bluffing and winning out. And I still baffled here. Exactly what is it that makes Jeter meter than Arods? |

The Yankees could not have asked for a better playoff scenario. Rangers gone in a play in game. Take out the O's. Facing either the A's or Tigers, both teams not as deep offensively as the Yankees. Then they decide to leave their bats in September.

I still see this going back to New York. I really can't see the Yankees losing with Sabathia pitching. 1 run will probably be enough - CC seems to be a big game pitcher so him throwing a shutout wouldn't surprise me.

Problem is, Yankees can't even score a run in a game. The Yankees were able to get runs off of our shit closer, and a tired Verlander on like his 128th pitch. Good luck getting that "1" run that's needed for CC to win |

The Yankees message board is funny. Everybody is just arguing amongst themselves. It's the battle of "we're fucked" vs "we still have a chance"

I'm sure Babe Ruth set that standard a long time ago. And if he didn't, I know Pete Rose did.
